Hennessy: the ‘Art of Blending’ documentary, a 30 minute compilation of electric performances, and 1:1 interviews. Hennessy mixed old school and new school at a once-in-a-lifetime event – bringing together musical icons including Chaka Khan, Q-Tip, Mary J Blige, The Roots, Eve, Bobby Brown, Ron Isley and Erykah Badu.

‘Art of Blending’ is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Thibaut De Longeville, best known for his documentary about sneaker culture, ‘Just For Kicks.’

The film will premiere on Hennessy’s Facebook (www.hennessy.com/aob) TODAY, Thursday, June 30th from 5pm EST.

Drums & Ammo is a four-man production team featuring Ammbush, 6Fingers, REL & Al Jieh. Collectively, they have worked with the likes of Raphael Saadiq, Messy Marv, Bambu, DaVinci, Keak Da Sneak, Mistah FAB, The Jacka, Del the Funky Homosapien, Exile, and many more. Their diversity in experience and range in sound – from spacey to soulful psychedelic – allow their music to be so much more than just Hip Hop. Drums & Ammo will be putting their sound on full display, releasing a debut album of their instrumental work, Vol. 1, for free on April 14, 2011.

My favorite artist from Copenhagen, Denmark Robin Hannibal (Owusu & Hannibal/Quadron/Boom Clap Bachelors) is bout to hit us in the head again on April 26th 2011 & on one of my favorite labels…Plug Research. I can’t wait! #WINNING.

Sometimes we get schitt in our inbox where it’s an immediate BLAH… & we just delete off top. Then there’s the times where the email is actually addressed to us & not on some mass email or BS like… “the most anticipated yada yada yada” where we just delete off top as well. Sometimes… they are decent. & Sometimes they are more than decent. This schitt right here doe my nigga? Producer Max Tannone‘s  Jay-Z vs. Radiohead mash ups were brought to life through this visual mix of his Jaydiohead project. The dancing is dope. The steez is flava. The directing & entire schitt the way it was shot is pretty damn clean & movie-esque… doesn’t feel like I’m watching a regular ass video. I think its pretty fly… what about you?

I’m a huge fan of Ruby Hornet’s Closed Sessions undertaking. I’ve spoken with my homies Virgil, Omar, and RTC over at the RH camp on multiple occasions about their foresight to create such a great idea and execute it with professionalism. I think it’s something we’ll start to see copied more and more as the years pass, but they’ve truly started the ball rolling. Long story short, Closed Sessions Austin was spawned from the original project done at Chicago’s Soundscape Studios, only this time it was during the SXSW week, thus putting a strenuous time limit on completing the recording for the project that hadn’t previously existed when Vol. 1 was created. The adventure, seemingly well-documented and laden with names you’ll know & love, is sure to be an interesting view. This is just the trailer though.
