I am of the mindset that for every Lil’ B that exists in the industry, there should be an equal & opposite force to balance out the perspectives in rap. I believe Vic Mensa is the Yang to that Yin, and with the visual assistance by the maverick Davy Greenberg, he was able to bring his track “Too Hard” from his Straight Up EP to life. Vic Mensa, the 16-year old frontman for the dope band Kids These Days & the youngest affiliate of the Brainiac Society, releases his first official project in conjunction with RubyHornet, aptly titled ‘Straight Up‘. One listen to this project and you’ll see that Mensa lyrically devours each track and leaves no doubt that he holds his own amongst equally stellar production from the likes of NEZ&RIO, M-Stacks, Double-O, and more.
