Yeah, it’s that serious. A few days ago, I took my quest to find the elusive All About The Bad Boys track to Twitter in efforts to try and find it for my catalogue and the world’s pleasure. I was directed to Mr. Mike Love, who was one-half of the Bad Boys on WGCI during their heyday,and he threw me the oop of all oops with the record. I, being the gentleman that I am, threw it to my homie Andrew over at FSD and let him run wild with it. A few days later, Mike hits me with THIS gem. Ridiculous collection of freestyles recorded on the radio show from artists like Common, Crucial Conflict, Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz, Fat Joe & Big Pun, Flipmode Squad, Twista, Juvenile, Brand Nubian, Outkast, Juice, Profound, Q-Tip, Da Brat, Shyne, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, and the list goes on. Basically it’s classic material and a must to have on your computer if you love hip-hop music in any sense. I should really start charging for connectin the dots like this, I’m a motherfuckin music blog wordsmith motherfucking lyrical genius! Happy Memorial Day! In celebration I’ma throw it back about 12 years ago with a super-rare joint that used to get heavy rotation the summer of ’97 here in Chicago on WGCI. Mike Love and the Diz (aka the Bad Boyz) did a Chicago-superstar remix of P. Diddy & The Family’s “All About the Benjamins” featuring D.A. Smart, Common, Crucial Conflict, Do Or Die, and Twista. I remember this being the illest shit ever back then, especially when they screw up the beat for Twista at the end. Shout to Mike Love for shooting this my way too! Partake and get edjumacated!
