FREESTYLE FELLOWSHIP PERFORMING “INNERCITY GRIOTS” TONIGHT [SF]

I’ve told you all countless times how important Freestyle Fellowship is to the development of our hip hop culture & tonight you have a chance to see why. Innercity Griots was the groups 2nd album released on 4th & B’way back in 1993. Their catalog as a whole & individuals runs deeper than Atlantis, but it was THIS album that changed it all & they will be performing this album in it’s entirety followed by their other classic material. I grew up on this album & it changed my life as a aficionado, student & aspiring rapper. I think I turned out okay . It all goes down tonight @ the historic 330 Ritch in beautiful San Francisco! SHAMES WORTHY

When it comes to spittin’ like no other, I always think of my brother Shames Worthy.  At age 16 he was already killin O.G.’s @ L.A.’s legendary platform for the underground known as The Good Life, he was showcasing his “verbal acrobatics” on many stages with L.A.’s underground kings & he was a pillar in the foundation of The Tunnelrats. When he wasn’t grinding on raps & beats he was a stage hand turned actor on various TV shows. In L.A. this isnt shocking… it’s what you do. You either work in TV/film or radio while you perfect your craft. I say all that to say this, this song is from an upcoming project that he is releasing soon & he touches on his journey to this point. It’s feel good vibes just in time for this hot ass summer we are about to have. Anyways… nuff talk. Peep & stay tuned for more.

FREESTYLE FELLOWSHIP | PROJECT BLOWED 15 YR ANNY

I grew up on RUN DMC & N.W.A. in L.A. & when I was rolling with The Tunnelrats, my man Dax put me onto Freestyle Fellowship. To Whom It May Concern & Intercity Griots would become the only things I would play & study. These 4 men gave birth to a whole new sound & style that to this day many try to imitate but none can compare. It’s crazy to me that Project Blowed just celebrated 15 years of existence as a separate entity from The Good Life, which was home to Freestyle Fellowship as well as a hip hop Apollo if you will. I swear… I can sit here & continue writing a novel about this whole movement. Anyways, much respecognition to my fam Shames Worthy & Dert for the link.
