Here we are with Innervisions Vol. 5. For those of you who are new to the compilation series, it was inspired by Stevie Wonder’s 1973 classic record. On these mixes, I include a lot of old-school soul, funk, R&B and blend it with some modern songs for a trippy experience. You should feel like you stepped into a time machine either to the past or the future when you play the songs. I’ve been getting my footing for getting these to sound right for a while, and I think it’s the most cohesive set besides Vol. 3 which is my favorite to date. Tracks and links after the jump. Da hell? Say it aint so, but it is. Rise In Power Teena Marie (Lady T) passed away today found dead in her home by her daughter. She was 54.

A little known fact about Teena Marie: After fighting with Motown Records, a court passed what is now called the Teena Marie Law — which states a label cannot keep an artist under contract without releasing an album by the act. Also Teena is former “SNL” star Maya Rudolph’s godmother.

It’s about that time again! It’s my pleasure to bring you Dirty Money, Filthy Dollars 2 – a vivid collection of some gems I like to bump personally, some new joints that didn’t make it to GO!, some new artists you guys need to be tuned into, and some songs that hopefully open your eyes to new genres and experiences. We go harder than anyone else in terms of this mix shit, and I like to think of Blind I as the pioneer of the internet mixes! We’re doing something special with all of our mixes and making sure that you guys are able to go back in the archives with relative ease and grab whatever compilation you want at any time.
