Our very own Noah not only posts the ill compilations on Blind I, does amazing graphic work and kills it over at Turntablefm, but he also rhymes. My multi-talented lil bro NO (of NO KNOWS EVERYTHING) and also talented Sol Plus 10 together know as SUB REN recently put out this dope mixtape titled The Album We Should Have Put Out Years Ago But It’s Really A Mixtape and the story goes like this…

They were signed to a label back in the day & let’s just say that some technical difficulties got in the way of turning in our album to the label. Some odd years later, here we are finally putting it out. We added some Live schitt, since that’s what we are mainly known for, including some sneak peaks into the album-ALBUM that we will be releasing in a few months on Isolated Wax. Sol Plus 10 compiled, arranged & mixed this down, while Noah Dee Akili’s No Knows Art company handled the graphics for it. All together this is a nice lil package of some s? for your libraries. Our BLIND I brother Noah Dee Akili’s group Sub Ren recently collaborated with fellow West Coaster Rey Resurreccion for their new song, “Shut It Down.”  The beat gives you that old-school vintage vibe and it will definitely be a feel-good track for the summer. Sub Ren is currently working on their album E.P.I.C. which will be released in a few months, while working on an EP with Square Weezy from The Bangerz. We will definitely keep you in the loop as the freshness continues. Get familiar.

I’ve told you all countless times how important Freestyle Fellowship is to the development of our hip hop culture & tonight you have a chance to see why. Innercity Griots was the groups 2nd album released on 4th & B’way back in 1993. Their catalog as a whole & individuals runs deeper than Atlantis, but it was THIS album that changed it all & they will be performing this album in it’s entirety followed by their other classic material. Good thing they heard the cries from around the globe though, because I’m happy to announce that SUB REN is BACK! Not only are Sol Plus 10 and Noahdeeakili back in action making crack music (of which you can sample some of the newness above), but they’re rocking out in Santa Clara on the 16th at the shindig celebrating Tape Mastah Steph’s 2nd Homecoming to the Bay Area, along with Soapbox Melodics and a whole bunch of other goodness. I, for one, am ecstatic that Sub Ren’s back in action and if I could get my Chicago ass out to the Bay to catch this show I surely would! If you’re out there, you should definitely be in attendance! NO KNOWS DOPE::APRIL 2009

Whattup Blind I faithful! I truly apologize for not droppin this on the 15th (the day NKD’s are scheduled to drop) but the truth of the matter is that (in the words of my momz) ‘I am burning the candle @ both ends’ by doing ’4 much’ these daze! But ya know what I say… I’ll rest when I’m dead. So with that being said, let’s get to it! I had 5 songs that I had previously selected a month ago for this months edition. The rest was compiled all damn day today.
