The Future Sound of Modern Funk contains exclusives and gems from artists and producers like Devonwho Electric Wire Hustle, Teeko, B. VIDEO: CEE-LO-WHAT PART OF FOREVER

When you look at the transformation of Cee-Lo’s music, you almost have to do a double take to make sure you’re looking at the same artist. He’s always been on his own program, but from the gritty Dungeon Family “Cell Therapy” days to wandering in the woods is quite a leap. However, the video is peaceful and seems consistent with his recent shtick [see:No One's Gonna Love You]. This was co-written by Cee-Lo Green and Oh, Hush! & Rob Kleiner for the Twilight soundtrack.

GOAPELE DISCUSSES MILK & HONEY

With all of this new music going around, I’m glad Goapele’s got a new album Milk & Honey and a new look to go with it. I would love to go to a show with her Dwele and Amel Larrieux.  My girl Goapele has been puttin’ it down for a while. If you’re in the Bay Area, and you’ve caught one of her shows,  then you know what I’m talking about.   Some of the credits on the new album are looking nice too.  Songs to look forward to are “The Drumma Boy”  (Young Jeezy, TI, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane) produced track “Right Here,” the Bobby Ozuna (Raphael Saadiq, D’Angelo, Anthony Hamilton) produced track “Tears on my Pillow” and the title track “Milk & Honey” produced by Bedrock (B-Legit, Clyde Carson, Jacka). Heat and fire up in there so should be tight. I CAN’T WAIT!

VIDEO: KANYE PERFORMS SONGS FROM GOOD ASS JOB

Wow the folks over at the Facebook offices got a special delivery from  from  Mr. West.  Kanye, clad in a suit and seemingly excited, spouted off  tracks from his highly anticipated album, Good Ass Job. When we got word of the rumored tracklist, many of us were curious about” Chain Heavy,” featuring Eminem and Jay-Z. From listening to the lyrics a Capella, he spits some bars from the this song in the first clip. He also previews “Lost in The World” and “Mama’s Boyfriend.” Heat!

Blind I loves Quadron. In case you missed it, we brought them to the Bay for a show a few months back. Here is the official video for their single, “Slippin.” We also posted a remix for this track. ORIOL – NIGHT AND DAY

Thanks again for the introduction to Blind I. I can’t ask for anything more than to be part of a talented family. Hopefully I can provide some inspiration through the things I share with you all. Let’s begin.

For my very first post, I’d like to introduce you to Oriol. This talented Spanish and Trinidadian born in Barcelona, but now based in Cambridge, just released a new album, Night And Day, on Planet Mu. The nostalgic dance sounds from 70s and 80s come alive blending through modern electronic aesthetics. The sound is old and new all at the same time and you just don’t want to turn it off. Peep a couple of my favorite tracks below, roll down the windows and dance through the oozing summer goodness. A coconut ice popsicle sounds good right about now. Enjoy, peace.
