It has only been two weeks since Sonnymoon blessed us with their 2012 EP and it’s been playing nonstop! The pair just released a new video for “Morning Person,” and producer Dane Orr really shines on this one. The video has a simplistic elegance to it. SONNYMOON- 2012 EP STREAMS + NEAR ME VIDEO

When our dear friends  Sonnymoon sent us their latest EP: 2012 via email, it didn’t take but a five minutes for the whole staff to stop what we were doing and listen. The five-song project sent all of us into a euphoric tailspin, as we discussed their updated sound. It’s still the same Sonnymoon we fell in love with circa Golden Age, but it seems as if they’ve turned up the voltage a bit on this one. SONNYMOON-YES 2 (BEYONCE COVER)

When this remix came up in my Twitter feed I literally did a double check to make sure Beyonce and Sonnymoon were being used in the same sentence. The only musical similarity between each songstress is that they have a strong command of their beautiful voices. But it is true- our favorite dynamic duo, notorious for their amazing covers, has reworked Beyonce’s “Yes” from Ms. Knowles’ debut album. You already know Dane, the production half, put the Sonnymoon stamp on this one. Partake!

BLIND I EXCLUSIVE: BLUM – FIRST BLUM

The irony that this post follows a Sonnymoon post. Unintentional, but fitting. You see, Blum is a long time friend of both Dane Orr & Anna Wise and has put together this album right here that is super dope as fuck! I ain’t even bout to get all technical terminology on you with this one…. DOPE IS DOPE and this exceeds all & any expectations of DOPE! My new favorite schitt indeed.

Remember how y’all felt about Sonnymoon? Well this is like that same feeling n schitt , different yes, but a great feeling of like … WOW… AIN’T NO ONE UP ON THIS SCHITT RIGHT NOW & THIS SCHITT IS FANTASTIC! Am I blowing it the fuck up? BLIND I SAYS GO! JUNE 2011

Blind I faithful, I almost didn’t do it. I looked at the new music that the world had to offer, at our submissions, and I just didn’t feel like what was presented was strong enough to make it to GO! You know me, them ordinary things don’t move me. I need some shit straight out the movies, word to Mighty Mos. Congratulations to our good friends Dane & Anna, better known as Sonnymoon, for  signing to one of todays leading labels in future sound; Plug Research! Plug Research is home to artists such as Bilal, Exile, Flying Lotus, Om’Mas Keith & Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra Creative Partners & Quadron just to name a few. Since late 2009, it has been a roller coaster ride  for them as they have made a noise louder than bombs with their free debut album they asked us to drop on Christmas, to performing @ SXSW, to getting remixed by Melo-X, to J*Davey twitting their appreciation for witnessing the “whiter & trippier version” of them, to now signing with a label that pushes the envelope on creativity and delivers each artists vision with quality. We here @ Blind I are proud of our folks! Congrats & Jedi Respecognition & LET’S GOOOOOO!!!
