BLIND I SAYS GO! APRIL 2011

Upgrades Upgrades Upgrades! They say if you want something done, do it yourself. I’ve wanted to format the Blind I Says GO! experience into a mixed format for awhile, and with a little help from Serato ScratchLive I was able to make my dream a reality! I’m one of those see-it-once-and-I-can-do-it type people, what can I say. So I decided to go the extra mile this month for GO! and put together TWO variations: one mixed hour-long session that you can press play on and let rock all the way through for your parties, gatherings, etc…..and a traditional Blind I comp with all the tracks ready for your enjoyment upon deployment. Shit’s moving nowadays. SXSW is upon us, great things are bubbling in the music scene, and of course the March 2011 edition of Blind I Says GO! is right on time to give you the freshest, sonically superb product from the artists you NEED to be in tune with. Chip, Adele, Wiz, Kenna, Lupe, Raekwon, Pusha, Curren$y, who you should all know on a first-name basis by now, joined by newcomers Jhene Aiko, Tree, and Action Bronson, compile a stellar collection that I must say has a bit of a Napoleon complex – short but packing a shitload of heat. Tennille is dope. The BX-bred songstress, affiliated with the Cool Kids camp, has recently blossomed with a fly, distinct style that I can honestly say I haven’t peeped anywhere else in my searches for dope music. Her voice is smooth and her subject matter is current and real as shit. Case and point with ‘Yellow Haze‘ – featuring Sir Michael Rocks and a bunch of greenery. Shouts to Ken Koller and Mike Waxx for the camerawork. Sometimes you just gotta light it up to take the pain away! Partake!

Illroots‘ Mike Carson commanded directorial duties and Mike Waxx got behind the camera for this new joint from Sir Michael Rocks of The Cool Kids entitled “Foreign Features“, produced by Tye Hill from The Productionix. The joint itself is superb, and Mikey rocks over it with ease. Carson does his thing from a directorial angle too, quite simple yet very effective. Kudos, sirs.
