FEEL GOOD INC!

I’ve been listening to alot of the shit that I have in my personal catalog, and I came to the conclusion that my favorite jawns are the ones that make me just plain HAPPY. I love to feel good from my music, and although I see the value in tracks that are deep, meaningful, educational, etc., sometimes I just like to wild out and dance. I know we’ve all been in a situation where we’ve had to play DJ iPod in a random get-together and been confused as to what to play. I guarantee that this 2CD compilation I’ve put together will get it poppin in any location. Classic feelgood music. Smile motherfuckers! You’re alive and well! Have sex even! I don’t care! Just FEEL GOOD!

ACOTM: Ring The Alarm!

Ok, now I am all for love and peace and harmony and equality. But there is something nefarious going on in the world of music, and I don’t like it. Peep- the Black female singers getting all the airplay are the ones who look like strippers and sing like *yawn*. And the new “Queens of Soul” are White women. What the hell?

Now, we know that most radio music is trizzash anyway. And we know that there are plenty of Black women out there who have real talent and who make real Soul music. But the fact of the matter is the Chrisette Michelles, Ledisis, Sy Smiths, N’Dambis, and Davinas of the world are being virtually ignored while wack-ass (IMO) Joss Stone, Fergie, Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen are turning the Soul music game into a big marginally-talented, meth-laced mess.

I’m not saying that White girls can’t make Soul music. Much respect to Teena Marie and Lydia Pense of Cold Blood, the OG’s of the female Blue-eyed Soulsters. I’m saying, why the hell are Black women being outsourced? Why do we only see the Black chicks who can’t hardly sing? And why are all these heavyweights like Raphael Saadiq, Questlove, Jay-Z, and Pharoahe Monch so damn down to shower these weak White women with praise? Amy Winehouse gets drunk, can’t do a live show without vomiting or cursing out the audience or slapping herself in the face. People still talk about how raw she is. Meanwhile, Lauryn Hill displays her own unhealthy behavior on stage and everyone dogs her out.

The moral of the story is, Black women can’t have shit. When ever we dominate or orginate in any field, there is always a push to see us replaced by our White counterparts and that is some bullshit. There is enough love and adoration to go around and youse a fool if you don’t know how to give respect to the originators before you big up the imitators. Don’t tell me shit about no damn Amy Winehouse unless you know about Minnie Ripperton and do not cop no fuckin wack-ass Lily Allen record if you don’t have any Mystic.

PS- Joss Stone fucks for beats.
