VIDEO: ROC RAIDA TRIBUTE

It’s been almost over a year already and we still miss him…..

The Beat Junkies, with the support of VTech, threw a tribute to our dear friend, the late great Grandmaster Roc Raida of the X-Ecutioners this past September. The actual event was exactly a year after the date he was buried: Sept 24th, 2009. We were able to have some members of the X-Ecutioners participate in the event, as well as having Roc Raida’s family in the house. His daughter DJ NyRaida performed a set in tribute to her father.

ROC RAIDA TRIBUTE

Trinity (AG, Sadat X & Fat Beats owner DJ Jab) go in on paying homage to the late great Roc Raida! It is still a shock that I am making a “tribute” post, like many other great artists we have recently lost, it just doesnt settle in that they are no longer here, but saying their name, bumping their music, watching their footage, carrying on what they set out to do… they continue to live on!

REST IN PEACE GRANDMASTER ROC RAIDA

I received sad news today. We lost one of THE greatest DJs ever to grace the world. I’ve been a fan of Roc Raida and The X-Ecutioners since seeing them in that infamous battle in 1997 with the Invisibl Skratch Piklz.

He helped spread turntablism to new heights and Hip Hop further through his talents and hard work. Rest in power brother.
