JESSE BOYKINS III F/ TRAE HARRIS & MELO-X-PROTOTYPE (COVER)

Jesse Boykins III teamed up with Melo-X and Trae Harris to create this wondrous remix of Andre3000′s song. The arrangement is beautiful.

In his own words: In Honor of Andre 3000 & The Isley Brothers, I decided to finally produce & record the song I’ve been using to start my live set for the past year. It also marks the end of a great summer filled with love & new experiences. Definitely a thank you to all my believers and supporters. Hope you find your Prototype in 2010. Special thanks to MeLo-X & Trae Harris for being on the wave with me.

In celebration of the birthday of Michael Jackson , I decided to repost this .. don’t sleep!!
Our Peoples over at illvibe are always keeping it fresh. Dj lil’ Dave is really putting it down with the BEST MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE MIX HANDS DOWN…Yeah i said it! I’ve heard a lot of MJ mixes and i like “Another part of MJ: Michael Jackson Remakes, Remixes & Re-Edits ” the most. What’s fresh about it is that instead of playing all the obvious classics we all know and love, he pulled together all the remixes, remakes, re-redits, b-sides, and demos he could find. The result is a mix of hiphop, reggae, house, samba, boogie, and of course some soul.

I was juiced in search of the track listing to find out there was another mix he put out in the anniversary of the Late Great King!

Congratulations to our good friends Dane & Anna, better known as Sonnymoon, for  signing to one of todays leading labels in future sound; Plug Research! Plug Research is home to artists such as Bilal, Exile, Flying Lotus, Om’Mas Keith & Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra Creative Partners & Quadron just to name a few. Since late 2009, it has been a roller coaster ride  for them as they have made a noise louder than bombs with their free debut album they asked us to drop on Christmas, to performing @ SXSW, to getting remixed by Melo-X, to J*Davey twitting their appreciation for witnessing the “whiter & trippier version” of them, to now signing with a label that pushes the envelope on creativity and delivers each artists vision with quality. A little bootleg/experimentation remix from of Groove Theory’s Tell Me by George Fitzgerald. A beautiful remix of a classic tune that I’m sure everyone one here knows and loves. George Fitzgerald takes Amel Larrieux‘s unforgettable vocal and re-energizes the tune with his signature groove and bassline. Hopefully, we can get this as an official release… hopefully.
