MEXICANS WITH GUNS – RESTART FEAT. SASHA PARERA & PLAYA REMIX FEAT. FREDDIE GIBBS

San Antonio, Texas-based producer Mexicans With Guns lets loose of a stream of the track Restart featuring Sasha Parera on vocals via NPR Alt.Latino. Off his upcoming release Ceremony, set to drop in May. He did a remix of the Gangsta Gibbs track “Playa” back in July that’s pretty dope as well. Stream and download for that below as well. Uh…a Mexican with a gun and a dude from Gary, Indiana though? Sounds like something I should be running from…not listening to….I’m just saying.

Along with waiting on Lauryn Hill, I’ve been daydreaming  of an official D’Angelo comeback for many years.  Rumors have circulated but until there’s proof, I will continue to listen to projects like this, where someone breathes new life into his music (ahem: Sulaiman-D’ecent). ARTHUR VEROCAI & JNEIRO JAREL-BALADA 45 (LIKE A BRAZILIAN GIRL REMIX)

Philly native Jneiro Jarel (a.k.a. Dr. Who Dat?) was heavily influenced by bossanova when he got into music and it has permeated  his sound ever since. He’s sampled  Brazilian legend Arthur Verocai several times, so this remix of “Balada 45″ is an ideal mash up of both of their styles.
