SULAIMAN- D’ECENT EP

If you’re a D’Angelo fan, you’ll immediately peep that Sulaiman is telegraphing his Voodoo album cover here (except $ kept his shirt on, Ha).

In the span of ONLY eight hours, Suli rhymed over D’Angelo samples mixed by producer Chris P and breathed new life into them. Voila, D’ecent was born. You’d be hard-pressed to find Suli shamelessly plugging himself here, so I wanted to post this for your listening pleasure.

FRANCIS AND THE LIGHTS

The music world is gradually starting to fixate on Francis and the Lights. Though Francis Farewell Starlite’s precise vocals and electric sound is undeniable, there is still an element of mystery looming around him like a force field. Clad in a black ensemble and his signature coif, Francis sat quietly backstage at Manhattan’s Santos Party House. His piercing eyes panned across the room as he reflected on the seemingly accelerated journey of his group. Befitting to the notion that entertainers come alive when they perform, Francis radiated as he glided across the stage with agility. In that moment, audience members were transformed into magnets. Blind I was fortunate enough to catch up with him before the raucous crowd indulged in their energetic set.

For example, the public may be invited to develop a new technology, carry out a design task (also known as community-based design and distributed participatory design), refine or carry out the steps of an algorithm (see Human-based computation), or help capture, systematize or analyze large amounts of data (see also citizen science).

Blind I buddy MWM has collaborated with French vinyl wrap company Skinizi to create this dope iPhone 3M wrap with one of his super ill MWM graphic designs. Those who were fortunate enough to come to the Blind I NYE Prom 09 party might recognize his work as the backdrop for our ill Prom pics. iPhone heads go get one!

THEOPHILUS LONDON – THIS CHARMING MIXTAPE

Maiya hipped me to Theophilus last year after she’d seen him at a performance out in NY. I checked him out afterwards and thought it was pretty dope. Boy, little did I know how dope this guy actually is. His newest contribution to my musical life, entitled “This Charming Mixtape”, will be reminiscent of some Kid Cudi to those who don’t dig into the vaults like us at Blind I, but to our demographic, I believe there’s much more to be appreciated about Theophilus’ effort and musical taste than to Cudi’s. No disrespect, Cudi! It’s just a nice way of saying you’re in the same park playing two different games. But enough of that, here’s a sample song from the mixtape:

This is my New Year’s Resolution. I resolve to making crack compilations for all of the Blind I faithful to pump in their cars, their iPod speakers, and whatever else they may bop their heads to. It’s our job to carry on the traditions created by the greats before us, and thus we bring you the brand spanking new installment of Blind I Says Go! for the 2009 kickoff.
