My new obsession. Yuna is signed to FADER’s label, and she’s a 25 year old Malaysian Muslim with influences including No Doubt, The Cranberries and Fiona Apple, amongst others. Her previous works (namely last year’s Decorate EP), which I’ve been jamming too religiously, are reminiscent of a bit of Feist, but honestly I feel like her songwriting & voice are much better. Alright here is another #latepass guys! Tyler, The Creator put this summertime mix together and tweeted about it. I already knew it would be filled with N.E.R.D., since he’s a self-proclaimed stan, and I was right. Upgrades Upgrades Upgrades! They say if you want something done, do it yourself. I’ve wanted to format the Blind I Says GO! experience into a mixed format for awhile, and with a little help from Serato ScratchLive I was able to make my dream a reality! I’m one of those see-it-once-and-I-can-do-it type people, what can I say. So I decided to go the extra mile this month for GO! and put together TWO variations: one mixed hour-long session that you can press play on and let rock all the way through for your parties, gatherings, etc…..and a traditional Blind I comp with all the tracks ready for your enjoyment upon deployment. Front, back, side to side 2010 has been quite the ride (rhyme). The first year of the new decade wasn’t the smoothest, but I think it was great for new beginnings. With music advancing (and sometimes echoing back to the past) at a rapid pace it’s good to remind ourselves that even with the abundance of tunes out there always concentrate on the timeless and memorable. Thanks for sticking with me these last few years, and hopefully in the future to come. Illroots got a hold of the alternate version of Common x Pharrell‘s ‘Announcement‘ directed by Hype Williams. It’s quite obvious they were a bit schizophrenic about the look/direction of the Universal Mind Control project, this video was clean though.
