CRIS CAB – FOREWORD

Whoa. I’d heard of Cris Cab from a few homies a few weeks back…a young kid from Miami with a talented voice and equal skill on the guitar. The first person who tried to sell me on the kid threw out Pharrell’s name as one of his co-signs…and although I’m a Neptunes/N.E.R.D./Skateboard P fan, you know how all the stans can get when his name is involved. So I chilled and waited to hear a project, and the ‘Danagers’ shot over Cris’ latest project entitled ‘Foreword‘ – and it exceeded my already-elevated expectations. This kid is an amalgamation of some of my favorite groups & sounds – a bit of Sublime here, 311 there, Incubus over there….Let me stop all the ‘co-signage’ though and let you partake in some dope new music. Hi.

My name is $, and I’m an Aquarius. And I owe you one right? Don’t think I’ve forgotten you. Hopefully you stayed Empowered in the interim. Today I’m feeling the love that everybody sends our way for what we do, how we do it with dignity, with appeal, never force, just encourage…and I said to myself, the thing that makes love LOVE, is reciprocity!
