We know you guys have been wondering, “What happened to the compilations on Blind I?” for quite some time, right? Well, no worries! We’re restructuring the site a bit and we plan to roll out some exciting new features in the near future. It’s getting chilly out and rather than spending time outside partying, more of us are bundling up with significant others. I equate fall with romance. Always have and always will. OLIVERDAYSOUL-LABOR PRODUCED BY ODDISSEE

Oliver Daysoul just released the first single from his upcoming EP, Mr. Saint Louis (out this Friday). I’m sure all of the fellas will be able to relate to the lyrics, “That’s just labor, I cant save her!” I love the production by Oddissee. These two make a great pair. Hi Everyone. What can I say–it’s been quite a month. For starters, Blind I celebrated our first SXSW showcase (Check out the pictures here) and it was incredible to be in the presence of musical greatness.  It has been a whirlwind for me personally these past few weeks, dealing with moments of jubilation and euphoria to death, grief and setbacks. Music has been my window seat. This compilation was due Monday but I needed to gather my thoughts and get the sound right. It starts out mellow and soothing and ends a bit more chaotic–just how it’s sounded in my head. I hope you relate somehow. Tracks/link next door.

You think you know, but you have no idea. Even us privileged enough to be in the know, the people who check out Blind I and fall in love with the music, are still unaware of what these artists will be able to bring to the world in the near future. It’s crazy cause while out at CMJ last year, TiRon and & spoke about how he was from Kankakee, Illinois, and I was taken aback by his journey. It’s always interesting to hear unique points of view, especially like this 60901 snippet laid over a super-dope Oddissee beat (60901 happens to be Kankakee’s area code). TiRon‘s at our Quality! Showcase on Friday, so come check him out and indulge in the snippet until Mustard drops.

ODDISSEE – ODD WINTER

Oddissee has rapidly become one of my favorite new producers. I must admit, I didn’t know much about the DMV native until I heard the Diamond District project, but ever since then, everything I’ve heard from him has been superb + stellar + fantastic. I love it when someone transitions from just “making beats” to being an actual “producer” with a detail-oriented sound. Oddiseee releases Odd Winter, part 3 of his seasonal series, and of course we’ve gotta put you on. Partake!

GEORGIA ANNE MULDROW X DECLAIME – GET UP (+ ODDISSEE GO-GO REMIX)

Growth & Development and I ain’t talking about the Gangster Disciples. Soulful songstress Georgia Anne Muldrow and Declaime aka Dudley Perkins snap on a new joint entitled “Get Up” to celebrate the vinyl-only release of their album precursor EP, Heaven Or Hell. It features contributions from Prince Po, yU, and German DMC Supremacy champion DJ Clear. Over the track’s brooding, resonating piano, horn stabs, and wobbling bass line, Declaime, with his unorthodox, winding rhyme patterns, is the track’s clear standout. The too-oft overlooked wordsmith uses the equally unorthodox instrumental to offer challenger MC’s a warning, rapping, “Pound for pound, standing ground with any fool who wanna get down / You get drowned, you get burnt / Haven’t you learnt yet, I’m a war vet.”
