When I found out from Drea, formerly of He Say, She Say that the group was disbanding, my heart was heavy. Both Drea and Million $ Mano created a slew of genre-bending freshness whilst under Lupe Fiasco’s FNF imprint, but in the words of Sir Michael Rocks, something happened and the deal just went sour. So Mano’s taken the liberty of dropping some of the unreleased material for the ladies & gents. It still saddens me that the group is no more, but at least you guys can enjoy the talents. Partake!

Chip Tha Ripper is one of my favorite new rappers out. Cats like him, Big K.R.I.T., Dom Kennedy, all know how to use their vocal inflections perfectly over the beats that they choose, and we all win because of it. Chip decided to drop “From Me To You“, a prelude to the Gift Raps album that he and Cool Kids’ producer Chuck Inglish collaborated on, which should be nuts as well. Until then, we’ve got 6 new tracks to hold us down until Gift Raps drops. Check out “Ain’t No Love” produced by Million $ Mano and then partake!

RUBYHORNET PRESENTS CLOSED SESSIONS VOL. 1

Now this is a stellar project. The good homies at RubyHornet, in conjunction with Chicago-based Soundscape Recordings, brought together producers and artists to formulate a great original project. The EP was recorded entirely in Chicago, IL at SoundScape Studios with visiting as well as local artists. Pretty much, when an artist came to Chicago, they brought them to SoundScape, made them comfortable, gave them access to the production catalog and just got out of their way.  The EP features artists such as Bun B, Kidz In The Hall, Emilio Rojas, GLC, Truck North, Big Pooh, Skyzoo, Rhymefest, Chip Tha Ripper, Hollywood Holt, Million $ Mano, U-N-I, Amanda Diva, Tanya Morgan, Curren$y and more.

On behalf of the Blind I crew, I’d like to congratulate DJ Timbuck2 on winning the VH1 Hip Hop Honors Best Hip Hop DJ award. Anyone in or around Chicago knows that Tim is pretty much the #1 DJ in the land, and I can vouch for him being a master of his craft and a stand up guy.
