Ladies and Gentlemen. Are you ready? To take another trip. From new school to old, from groovin to dancin’, from singin’ to bangin’ your bead, from likin’ to lovin’ good music. Dj Merlin and Blind I are proud to present the latest installment in the Be Advised Series. Dj Merlin’s Be Advised Vol. 2. If you listen closely the songs are inspired by love because it’s something that your heart beats for and that was my inspiration for this edition. Who says talking about love has to always be mushy and in slow songs? Do it Behind The Groove and its a whole nother experience.
Be Advised Volume 2 is twice as long as the previous (more music, more beats:) and has a more eclectic blend of artists thru a wider range of genres, and no matter what you listen to or when you listen to it, this should always fit right in. As always its funky and gets you moving any time of day with new music from the likes of Sy Smith, Peter Hadar and Persia to throw backs from Teena Marie, Me’Shell Ndegeochello and Michael Jackson.

Another album that I have been grooving to for quite some time & have been an asshole for not posting has been Hayling‘s Take Cover project. An album where he flips some of his favorite cuts of all time from Stevie/Michael to Prince to Sade. All originally remixed beautifully by one of today’s lowkey super musicians. I keep trying to tell y’all… watch out for Hayling.

ANOTHER PART OF MJ: MICHAEL JACKSON REMAKES, REMIXES & RE-EDITS VOL 1 & 2 [REPOST]
In celebration of the birthday of Michael Jackson , I decided to repost this .. don’t sleep!!
Our Peoples over at illvibe are always keeping it fresh. Dj lil’ Dave is really putting it down with the BEST MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE MIX HANDS DOWN…Yeah i said it! I’ve heard a lot of MJ mixes and i like “Another part of MJ: Michael Jackson Remakes, Remixes & Re-Edits ” the most. What’s fresh about it is that instead of playing all the obvious classics we all know and love, he pulled together all the remixes, remakes, re-redits, b-sides, and demos he could find. The result is a mix of hiphop, reggae, house, samba, boogie, and of course some soul.
I was juiced in search of the track listing to find out there was another mix he put out in the anniversary of the Late Great King!

I was at a cookout yesterday and Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff’s “Summertime” came on. There really is no such thing as having an event during the season without hearing this and other classic summertime songs. So, right on time for the 4th, Mick Boogie Undrcrwn and Jeff teamed up to create this mixtape with almost 50 hits from De la Soul to Quincy Jones. Audible goodness for days. DON’T CALL IT A REDEMPTION SONG
Folks all across Negronia and beyond tuned into last night’s BET Awards in anticipation of the network’s second attempt at a Michael Jackson tribute. I didn’t watch live because, well, I ain’t got cable. I am convinced that having access to so much television would make me lazy. And also, I’m poor. In anticipation of the key performances making their way to YouTube, I was able to garner the public’s reaction via Twitter. Interesting to say the least.
Chris Brown, who was unable to partake last year in the wake of beating his girlfriend’s ass, was given clearance to do the sort of MJ tribute all of us had been waiting for (not to shortchange the dope tribute at last year’s VMA’s, which was overshadowed by the Kanye/Taylor and Jay+Alicia+Lil’ Mama incidents):
