GOAPELE DISCUSSES MILK & HONEY
With all of this new music going around, I’m glad Goapele’s got a new album Milk & Honey and a new look to go with it. I would love to go to a show with her Dwele and Amel Larrieux. My girl Goapele has been puttin’ it down for a while. If you’re in the Bay Area, and you’ve caught one of her shows, then you know what I’m talking about. Some of the credits on the new album are looking nice too. Songs to look forward to are “The Drumma Boy” (Young Jeezy, TI, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane) produced track “Right Here,” the Bobby Ozuna (Raphael Saadiq, D’Angelo, Anthony Hamilton) produced track “Tears on my Pillow” and the title track “Milk & Honey” produced by Bedrock (B-Legit, Clyde Carson, Jacka). Heat and fire up in there so should be tight. I CAN’T WAIT!

LAURYN HILL-REPERCUSSIONS
A few weeks back, we posted an interview where Lauryn Hill mentioned getting excited about making music again. Now, this song has mysteriously appeared on the internet. I’m not sure if it’s new material or if it’s something that was cut from an old project, but the beat choice is a bit atypical for Ms. Hill. However, as usual, her voice sounds beautiful and it’s a mellow track to enjoy. What do you guys think? Will L Boogie make that comeback we’ve all been waiting for?

WE’RE JUST DISAPPOINTED – VIC SPENCER & SULAIMAN

It is my pleasure to drop this dope collaborative effort from my brother and fellow BLIND I FOR THE KIDS affiliate Sulaiman in association with BRAINIAC SOCIETY’s very own Vic Spencer entitled ‘ WE’RE JUST DISAPPOINTED’…..The project is a lyrical embodiment of the frustration stemming from two outliers navigating a realm of scene hoes, wack rappers, janky promoters, anonymous blog comments, and all-around bitch-assness. They’ve seen what the status quo has to offer, and frankly, they’re Just Disappointed.
With stellar production from M. Stacks, Black Spade, Statik Selektah, Constrobuz, NAMELESS, Nez & Rio, Maja 7th, Beat Maker Beat, and features from Naledge of Kidz In The Hall, Simeon of The Primeridian, Alex P. Keaton, D2G, Yung Word Mann, and Gzus Piece, Vic & Sulaiman are able to vividly depict the definition of Disappointment in a manner that everyone can relate to. 13 tracks of dope shit, tailor made to make a change by actually BEING the change. Peep “Feel Better” to get a sample of some of the heat that this album is packin … HEAT!
BRAVO!

TANYA AUCLAIR-THRUM EP
If you’re Feist, Kissey Asplund or Sia fan, you may attach pretty quickly to British singer-songwriter Tanya Auclair. On her first EP, Thrum, she coos softly over whimsical, folksy melodies. The guitar and gentle drum rhythms have that experimental, stripped-down-and-recorded-in-the-basement feel, which contributes to the lo-fi energy of the mix. In her own words:

VIDEO: ERIC ROBERSON – STILL
Erro (Eric Roberson) is one supremely talented brother! He has written & collaborated with everyone from Dwele to Musiq Soulchild to Jill Scott. He puts out timeless albums that reflect his honesty & humility within his lyrics & beautiful melodies over production that grabs you instantly. I was gettin my Twit on yesterday when I seen a twit from Erro saying he was streaming live @ the time. So I went to peep, heard a ill freestyle (he spit on 2 topics I gave him… Oscar Grant & J Dilla) & aired his video from off his last album Music Fan First (which we streamed for you when it first came out). The song is STILL & the visuals which were directed by Impakt Studio’s Chris & Blaq for it are very moving. He touches on a topic that is serious as cancer… cuz it is. Breast cancer. Every 13 minutes a life is lost to breast cancer & early detection saves lives! So in the words of Biggie… “girrlllls… rub on your titties!” & stay ready so you never have to GET ready! Jedi respecognition to Erro for not only being 110% honest & true with the music but for speaking on this subject though his video. Greatness personified @ its finest.
Shout out to Sweetlocs for the quick response & turn around on this so we could bring this to the faithfuls!

JADE – IT’S MY HEART, COOKIE REMIXES
Ever since It’s My Heart, Cookie dropped, Jade has been in constant rotation, not only in my play lists but almost every freakin girl I know! Her lane is unique and her songwriting capabilities are superb. She recently let producers undertake the task of remixing IMHC, and with contributions of production from the likes of Melo-X, Chuck Inglish, Hasan Insane and others….it doesn’t disappoint in the least bit. So without further ado, partake!
