Here we are with Innervisions Vol. 5. For those of you who are new to the compilation series, it was inspired by Stevie Wonder’s 1973 classic record. On these mixes, I include a lot of old-school soul, funk, R&B and blend it with some modern songs for a trippy experience. You should feel like you stepped into a time machine either to the past or the future when you play the songs. I’ve been getting my footing for getting these to sound right for a while, and I think it’s the most cohesive set besides Vol. 3 which is my favorite to date. Hi Everyone. What can I say–it’s been quite a month. For starters, Blind I celebrated our first SXSW showcase (Check out the pictures here) and it was incredible to be in the presence of musical greatness.  It has been a whirlwind for me personally these past few weeks, dealing with moments of jubilation and euphoria to death, grief and setbacks. Music has been my window seat. This compilation was due Monday but I needed to gather my thoughts and get the sound right. DJ EKO – ELECTRO YUM TURBO!

Blind I faithful & good friend DJ EKO or “ekogirl” has blessed us all with a new mix perfect for the weather that is warming up too damn soon (is it just me or does it feel like summer is already here?)! For those unaware, DJ Eko is a staple in our culture. She has had a successful show on KZSC Santa Cruz for over 12 years (in that time, became the stations Hip Hop Director), wrote reviews for Urb Magazine, worked with record label, Nu Gruv Alliance (working with Peanut Butter Wolf, StonesThrow, Quannum, Aceyalone, Abstract Rude, J5 & Zion I) & even had a show on KCSB while she was transplanted in L.A. for a quick minute. Today you can still tune in to KZSC when u are in the bay to peep her wonderful show or catch her rockin the 1′s & 2′s LIVE @ all the various hot spots!

So back to this mix! In her own words, Electro Yum Turbo! is:
