Here at Blind I we have always been about the music and the cultures that manifest themselves around this evolving art form. Within the last few years Blind I has been steadily building its repertoire beyond the blog from creating our popular music compilations, to sponsoring local concerts, organizing events at major music conferences and so forth. We have achieved so much in a short amount of time (and without any cooperate backing) yet we are always looking to further explore and expand what we can do to better serve the musical populace.

We have been playing around with this one idea for quite some time.  After much waiting and planning we would like to present to everyone our newest endeavor, The Blind I Music Boutique. We will be curating musical events showcasing the artists we have grown to love and enjoy on our site, and in real life. Taking the initiative to work closely with these artists we hope to ensure an event that highlights an eclectic array of sounds and talents. Our wish is to further broaden the participant’s scope and taste when the night is through (to basically have a good time).

The first artist to grace our new series will be no other than that Bay Area maestro, Trackademicks. We will be celebrating the recent release of his debut album and book, “State of the Arts” at 330 Rich in beautiful San Francisco with performances by Track’s and the entire HNRL Crew! This party is guaranteed to pop off. With an opening performance from J*Davey’s own Polyester The Saint and an all-star line up of DJs on the decks, live art stimulating your eyes via Mister Bouncer, an early open bar provided by Remy Martin, and food provided by the burrito baron DJ Mr. E (Papalote), we got you covered on all the bases (everything except a date, that’s on you).

He’s also a DJ, throws a gig called Machine Gun Funk every now n then, as well as videographing & photographing, makes beats, makes designs, makes sites, makes shoes… yup owns his very own shoe company…hollerate one time in this danceree on that one time for your mind & ya don’t stop. SQUARE WEEZY | MACHINE GUN FUNK [PT.1 OF 3]

So last week our boy Square Weezy of The Bangerz had his official headliner @ the infamous Machine Gun Funk in downtown San Jose, CA. I was blessed to be asked to rock the mic for my man as he did his thing (note: I don’t start doing that till after he dropped 10-15 minutes of live original production, stay tuned for parts 2 & 3). In this one, he drops the most recent Bangerz song entitled “Robot Remains” (which debuted on MTV’s ABDC with a performance by the Jabbawockeez). Super Jedi Shout out to the whole entire MGF camp, Mark PLSTK, Dub U, Ax!om MC & our very own Dandiggity.
