The homie KNNY FRSH is back like he never left & already hittin’ everyone in the mouth with the FRSHness! First off, welcome back FRSH SLCTS, we seen you doing the lowkey biz while you were revamping the site & now that the sites back we know it’s game the fuck over, so word up on that. Secondly, The Green Tape is right on time. A few reasons, tomorrow is 4/20, why not bump THE GREEN TAPE right? I know I’m 1 track minded. Anyways, the story goes like this: G_Force flipped the entire Lay it Down album by legendary Al Green in a day. Illmaculate (battle MC extraordinaire) was in the spot & witnessed the whole process take place & had to get down on it. Bada bing – Bada boom… The Green Tape was born. I’m feeling the chemistry between the two & hope this is only the beginning of many more to come!

DIAMOND DISTRICT LIVE THIS THURSDAY! [FOR FREEEEEEE!!]

The homies Kenny Fresh of Fresh Selects & Chase Freeman of NMDZ are proud to present the Portland debut of Washington, DC supergroup Diamond District. Compromised of rapper/producer, Oddisee, and his MC counterparts, yU and X.O. – Diamond District have been making a tidal wave of noise throughout the music world after the release of their debut album, In The Ruff, last fall.

Hailed by such hip-hop notables as DJ Premier, Posdnous (De La Soul), Phonte (Little Brother/The Foreign Exchange) - In The Ruff was widely accepted as one of the essential hip-hop albums of 2009. All three members have surely been no slouch in their solo careers either. Oddisee recently released the instrumental album, Travelin Man, and has produced tracks for everyone from DJ Jazzy Jeff to Freeway to Talib Kweli. yU officially released a retail version of his underground classic, Before Taxes, this month, which was selected as a XXL Editor’s Choice and licensed for Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Bubblers Fourcompilation when FRESHselects.net first released it last year. Lastly X.O. has been continuing his reign over the DMV-area mixtape scene through a slew of releases with the reputable Studio43 label, most recently One. One. Ten.
