Shit’s moving nowadays. SXSW is upon us, great things are bubbling in the music scene, and of course the March 2011 edition of Blind I Says GO! is right on time to give you the freshest, sonically superb product from the artists you NEED to be in tune with. Chip, Adele, Wiz, Kenna, Lupe, Raekwon, Pusha, Curren$y, who you should all know on a first-name basis by now, joined by newcomers Jhene Aiko, Tree, and Action Bronson, compile a stellar collection that I must say has a bit of a Napoleon complex – short but packing a shitload of heat. No & I had the pleasure of getting a advance copy of 3rd installment of the [RE]MIxtape series in Austin, and let me go the books and say this is my new favorite mixtape of 2010. The 17 song mix includes remixes from the likes of Zero 7, Chromeo, Jazmine Sullivan, Janelle Monae, Little Dragon and more, along with a couple original Track joints. The entire mix was crafted together by fellow Honor Roller DJ TAP.10.

It’s March already! Truthfully I couldn’t be happier…the outlook on this year is bright, there’s a ton of work being done so the results are sure to be beautiful, and the phrase Blind I Says GO! has never meant so much as it does right now. You wake up one day, decide to start dreaming and just start DOING. I used to sit back with my philosophical thoughts and say like Kanye did in the chorus to Common’s “The Corner” – I wish I could GIVE you this feeling…but alas this platform that we’ve created of outstanding musical compilations has given me a medium by which I can hopefully inspire our listeners to get up and GO! because thinking is overrated! Ha! With all that being said, I’ve compiled what I’ll honestly say is my favorite – if not Top 5 – Blind I Says GO! compilations, and trust, I now have 42 in total to choose from! Everything flows, everything’s masterful, everything should give you the steam you need to power your engine. So F*CK a groundhog, we’re starting Springtime right now. Ready….set….GO!

Kinda tardy, but you can never be too tardy for a good cause. MusicForRelief.org amassed a great team of donors and celebrities to contribute to create the Download To Donate campaign, with names like Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morissette, Slash, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Kenna, Enrique Iglesias and Lupe Fiasco contributing tracks to support the effort. Clearly the standout track for most Blind I enthusiasts is the Mike Shinoda-produced Resurrection, featuring Lupe Fiasco and Kenna. My name is $, and I’m an Aquarius. And I owe you one right? Don’t think I’ve forgotten you. Hopefully you stayed Empowered in the interim. Today I’m feeling the love that everybody sends our way for what we do, how we do it with dignity, with appeal, never force, just encourage…and I said to myself, the thing that makes love LOVE, is reciprocity! So, seeing as how I owe the Blind I faithful, seeing as how Haiti needs our help, seeing as how Teddy Pendergrass just passed…We need love, yo. So I’ma give a gift that’ll keep on giving.
