Can you believe the seasons have changed already? This year is moving at the speed of light. I’m particularly proud of the Blind I team for the way we continue to progress as a unit and a movement. We have more for you to look forward to before the year is over. I decided to do a RDV this month because as summer unwinds and the temperature starts to drop, people gravitate toward their special someone. Whenever people reference Blind I, or the kind of music we post, especially in our monthly compilations, the word “taste” comes up a lot. Individually and collectively we all have a very specific ear and that’s what draws you in to either hate or love it. Sometimes when I put mine together, I try to switch things up a bit to reach and satisfy different tastes, but this month, it’s just me. I catered to what I wanted to hear.  I took my time pairing them together, contemplated and edited accordingly. Sit back, put your feet up and play it loud. Awwwwwwwwwww gyeah sun! I’m getting out my dreams! Okay so we’ve tackled str8 up heat to kick start it all, then Dilla, then Beats, then Love & now S T E R E O L A B ! ! ! This also like my Dilla tribute has been in the making for some time (since 07). My good friends Andrew Baker, Kenny Chen, Dert & myself share a love for Stereolab like no other. A favorite group of influential freshmakers as well from Gilles Peterson to  ?uestlove to J Dilla. Members Tim Gane (guitar/keyboards) , Lætitia Sadier (vocals/keyboards/guitar), & Andy Ramsay (drums) stepped on the scene back in 1990 straight outta London England. They have had many members come & go since then including Mary Hansen (backing vocals/ keyboards/ guitar), who joined the group in 1992, ten years before her accidental death. I had the pleasure of catching them last year for the first time live & it was phenomenal. Like the No Knows Dilla, this one was just as difficult to compile but I think after 4 years of debating on certain tracks to stay on or be taken off I have narrowed it down to (IMO) the best of the best that makes me love this “groop” so much. Heat spanning from across their vast discography, collaborations, live versions, remixes & rarities … yeah… this is the one! I hope you all eNjOy as much as I do.

Hi Everyone. What can I say–it’s been quite a month. For starters, Blind I celebrated our first SXSW showcase (Check out the pictures here) and it was incredible to be in the presence of musical greatness.  It has been a whirlwind for me personally these past few weeks, dealing with moments of jubilation and euphoria to death, grief and setbacks. Music has been my window seat. This compilation was due Monday but I needed to gather my thoughts and get the sound right. It starts out mellow and soothing and ends a bit more chaotic–just how it’s sounded in my head. I hope you relate somehow. Tracks/link next door.
