THE GLITCH MOB – DRINK THE SEA: THE REMIXES VOL. 1

The Glitch Mob have compiled this dope remix album of their latest release Drink The Sea. It features a nice line up as well, with names like King Britt & DJ Vadim on the bill. They’re asking for a donation that will get you an instant download for this album as well as Volume 2. But its for a good cause yall: Haiti. That’s right. Haiti. Its still fucked up in case you forgot. Here’s one of the tracks done by Sub Swara to give you a taste of what’s in store. The rest can be previewed and copped here. There’s a video done by The Glitch Mob as well asking for support after the jump. Have a heart good folks, Wyclef can’t do it all on his own.

every_drop_flyer_Lg NEW

By now you’re already fully aware of the tragedy that took place in Haiti this month and the devastation it has caused its people. Despite the decrease in coverage by major media outlets we must ensure that this event does not decrease in relevance in our own lives and we continue to do everything we can to aid and assist those in need. If you’re in or around Chicago on January 31st  support the The Every Drop Counts Chicago Benefit Concert and its cause.

Here’s a excerpt of Every Drop Counts’ mission statement taken off of their website:

“We began by establishing a Hip-Hop and soul benefit concert—scheduled to take place in Chicago on Sunday, January 31, 2010. The benefit is meant to create awareness of the fundamental need and human right to access clean water. Water is an essential resource to the vitality of human life, it engenders prolonged community building and development.”

Tickets are available now at Leaders 1354‘s downtown location at 672 N. Wells and on Every Drop Count’s website.

All proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales will go directly to World Water Relief

TAPE MASTAH STEPH – THE BARBARIAN RACE

Haiti_Earthquake_Prepares_for_Death_Toll_of_Thousands_xlargeIf you haven’t heard, Haiti is going through it right now! The country sits on a tectonic plate boundary & was rocked with a 7.0 earthquake that destroyed homes, businesses & took many lives in the process. With all the money you save on getting free schitt on the daily online, I highly suggest you dip into your pockets & throw a lil help their way. You can hit up the Red Cross or Yele.org to see what you can do to help the crisis. We are the generation responsible for taking action so that our kids can follow suit. Let’s lead by example!

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Tape Mastah Steph made this track yesterday after sending out his support to Haiti. In his own words…

Created this track yesterday as my thoughts went out to Haitians in that devistating Earthquake that struck southern Haiti on Tuesday. If anyone is to donate to charity, I urge you only give to legitimate organizations such as the Red Cross. Beware of virus emails, charity scammers, etc. Make sure you research the Organization to where you are donating. Also keep our world leaders in Prayer.
