I really outdid myself with this one. This…..right here….is my…..most fluid, themed, consistent BISG compilation yet! August’s edition of Blind I Says GO! is giving love to the joints you love but forget to revisit….the Yin to the typical Yang of selections that jump out at us on out favorite records….yes that’s right, the INTERLUDE! When I came up with this concept I had a few special ones in mind that I’d always loved, but I had no idea I’d be able to pick 40 tracks that combined into an hour-long mindgasm of sonic delicacy. GOAPELE DISCUSSES MILK & HONEY

With all of this new music going around, I’m glad Goapele’s got a new album Milk & Honey and a new look to go with it. I would love to go to a show with her Dwele and Amel Larrieux.  My girl Goapele has been puttin’ it down for a while. If you’re in the Bay Area, and you’ve caught one of her shows,  then you know what I’m talking about.   Some of the credits on the new album are looking nice too.  Songs to look forward to are “The Drumma Boy”  (Young Jeezy, TI, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane) produced track “Right Here,” the Bobby Ozuna (Raphael Saadiq, D’Angelo, Anthony Hamilton) produced track “Tears on my Pillow” and the title track “Milk & Honey” produced by Bedrock (B-Legit, Clyde Carson, Jacka). Heat and fire up in there so should be tight. I CAN’T WAIT!

Erro (Eric Roberson) is one supremely talented brother! He has written & collaborated with everyone from Dwele to Musiq Soulchild to Jill Scott. He puts out timeless albums that reflect his honesty & humility within his lyrics & beautiful melodies over production that grabs you instantly. I was gettin my Twit on yesterday when I seen a twit from Erro saying he was streaming live @ the time. So I went to peep, heard a ill freestyle (he spit on 2 topics I gave him… Oscar Grant & J Dilla) & aired his video from off his last album Music Fan First (which we streamed for you when it first came out). The song is STILL & the visuals which were directed by Impakt Studio’s Chris & Blaq for it are very moving. He touches on a topic that is serious as cancer… cuz it is. Breast cancer. Every 13 minutes a life is lost to breast cancer & early detection saves lives! So in the words of Biggie… “girrlllls… rub on your titties!” & stay ready so you never have to GET ready! Jedi respecognition to Erro for not only being 110% honest & true with the music but for speaking on this subject though his video. Greatness personified @ its finest.

Shout out to Sweetlocs for the quick response & turn around on this so we could bring this to the faithfuls!

DJ JAZZY JEFF AND MICK BOOGIE PRESENT-SUMMERTIME

I was at a cookout yesterday and Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff’s “Summertime” came on. There really is no such thing as having an event during the season without hearing this and other classic summertime songs. So, right on time for the 4th, Mick Boogie Undrcrwn and Jeff teamed up to create this mixtape with almost 50 hits from De la Soul to Quincy Jones. Audible goodness for days. TIMELESS: A SUITE FOR MA DUKES | UNTITLED/FANTASTIC [GEORGIA ANNE MULDROW REMIX]

V-Tech & Mochilla’s Timeless Concert series gets remixed! Last week or so we dropped the Jneiro Jarel’s remix of Verocai’s Balada 45 , as well as the footage from the Timeless DVD set which featured “Untitled/Fantastic”, & today we bring you Georgia Anne Muldrow’s remix of Miguel Atwood-Ferguson’s 60 piece orchestrated masterpiece. I speak for the homies House Shoes, Dwele G & myself that this segment in the film is most touching to all of us Dilla elitists. It’s hard to not get choked up & teary eyed when the strings begin “Fantastic”. Peep GAM’s take on it…

TIMELESS: SUITE FOR MA DUKES PRE-ORDER

On March 30th  Mochilla will release their Timeless DVD box set  to the world. This three DVD package documents (in Mochilla fashion) three individual concerts by legendary composers and producers of some of the finest music our generation has heard. Their influence has been felt by all walks of popular music, from Hip Hop to Funk and continue to inspire generation after generation.

One of the concerts mentioned was the seminal Suite For Ma Dukes conducted by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and his 60 piece orchestra playing original arrangements from the catalogue of the late J Dilla.

The good folks at Mochilla made the track “Angel” (Dwele and the Suite For Ma Dukes Orchestra) downloadable for you all. You can cop the track here.
