YES!!! Volume 2 to one of my favorite compilations that came out back in 2009. The homie J-1 aka The Deer & Animal Kingdom has Voltron’ed up with (in)Sect Records to bring us the 2nd installment of Starship 27. J-1 handpicked/single handedly reached out to the homies & they responded with exclusives for that ass! YAY OR NAY: MILO HIROSHIMA – IT’S BEEN WRITTEN…

This hit my inbox yesterday and I was impressed by the candidness of the message included. Milo Hiroshima, a west-coast MC with a pretty ill & unique flow in my opinion, created his ‘It’s Been Written‘ mix tape in a lo-fi format intentionally…and although my first instinct was “yeah right”, I ventured to his Bandcamp and checked out the tracks and was thoroughly surprised. The lyrical detail is dope yet not overwhelming, and with production from devonwho, Flying Lotus, J. Dilla, Left Brain, MadLib, Metal Fingers (aka DOOM), Polow Da Don, and Tyler the Creator, the beats match perfectly. All in all, this is a new guy who just might creep his way into your playlists on some smooth alt-hip-hop shit. Partake and let us know after the jump, YAY or NAY?

(I mean… IT IS ME tho hahahaha). I have been bumping this all day while I was working on the back cover & it is damn good designing music… or work music… or whatever you use it for.
