SULAIMAN – BLACK RIBBON, HARD WORK MIXTAPE

Blind I faithful, our meticulous brother $ulaiman has completed his latest mixtape, Black Ribbon, Hard Work. I’m a true fan of his work and the hip hop movement in Chicago, so I was eager to listen and post it on the site. Recently, $ulaiman hit the stage at our Onyx showcase in NYC and he gained many new fans that night freestyling and performing songs from D’Ecent and We’re Just Disappointed. Now, on Black Ribbon Hard Work, the emcee takes you through a musical journey, proving his lyrical versatility and ability to do any beat justice. This track, “Baby Hair,” was produced by 14KT and it’s only a glimpse of the heat on the mixtape. Support our Blind I fam and partake! Tracks/link after the jump.

D’ANGELO-LEFT & RIGHT (SAM CHAMP REMIX)

Along with waiting on Lauryn Hill, I’ve been daydreaming  of an official D’Angelo comeback for many years.  Rumors have circulated but until there’s proof, I will continue to listen to projects like this, where someone breathes new life into his music (ahem: Sulaiman-D’ecent). Sam Champ remixed his Voodoo classic “Left & Right” and it sounds like a completely new song so let’s pretend, shall we? Partake.

SULAIMAN- D’ECENT EP

If you’re a D’Angelo fan, you’ll immediately peep that Sulaiman is telegraphing his Voodoo album cover here (except $ kept his shirt on, Ha).

In the span of ONLY eight hours, Suli rhymed over D’Angelo samples mixed by producer Chris P and breathed new life into them. Voila, D’ecent was born. You’d be hard-pressed to find Suli shamelessly plugging himself here, so I wanted to post this for your listening pleasure.
