Soulife is the nuSoul sound I’m most well-known for at a residency called Kiss.?some well-known heavy hitters in there with new tracks: Alicia, Sade ~ some really fly remixes: Stardust, Erykah+Bisope, Bugz ~ some super amazing new music from: Electric Wire Hustle, Fat Freddy’s drop ~ and then a lot of unfamiliar staples that have been in my soul crates for a few years to round it out.it definitely could use some woofer-love for the low end on the dubstep at the front.I hope you like it too.. but really.. I do. and that’s why I do it. It’s SUCH a pleasure to share it with you.

I remember catching this video mad years ago late night and being GEEKED. Homework is still one of my favorite albums of all time.

BLIND I SAYS GO! FEBRUARY 2009 | $’ BIRTHDAY EDITION

2008 was a great year for the kid. Blind I did it’s thing, I learned a lot from both good and fucking horrible situations, and I came out on the other side of the fire battle-tested and ready to step into 2009 with a new outlook and a specific set of skills….skills that make people like me a nightmare for people like you! Shouts to Liam Neeson. Anyway, I stepped up my game and found that it’s only appropriate, since I turn 23 today, to put together this month’s Blind I Says Go! compilation with 23 of the most tranquilizing joints I could fit onto one mix to help me focus! Yes, I did this one with a purely selfish intent, but honestly it ended up being one of the best compilations I’ve ever done.  Sometimes you have to ditch the “new & hot” inclusions in order to maintain the ambiance of a mix. Where else do you get attention to detail like that? If you enjoyed the Backstroke Series or $ Is Feeling Some Kinda Way, this one might top em all. Tracklisting after the jump….Partake!

Str8 Outta the mean streets of Paris (hahaha) ,these two house musicians gave birth to a whole new sound that has influenced many from Justice to Swizz Beats.

Oh & FYI…Hip Hop speaking… Dilla was the first to sample a Daft Punk song for Slum Village’s “Raise It Up”. He did it thinking it was just some random ass techno doode that would never catch wind of the song, but as it turned out Thomas Bangalter of DP was a fan of the Villa, so they just agreed to have Dilla do the remix for their song “Aerodynamic”.

So yes… Dilla, again ahead of his time.

Daft Punk as well, and you can tell from their whole mystique that they on some other…other…other.
