Yeah, it’s that serious. A few days ago, I took my quest to find the elusive All About The Bad Boys track to Twitter in efforts to try and find it for my catalogue and the world’s pleasure. I was directed to Mr. Mike Love, who was one-half of the Bad Boys on WGCI during their heyday,and he threw me the oop of all oops with the record. I, being the gentleman that I am, threw it to my homie Andrew over at FSD and let him run wild with it. A few days later, Mike hits me with THIS gem. Ridiculous collection of freestyles recorded on the radio show from artists like Common, Crucial Conflict, Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz, Fat Joe & Big Pun, Flipmode Squad, Twista, Juvenile, Brand Nubian, Outkast, Juice, Profound, Q-Tip, Da Brat, Shyne, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, and the list goes on. Basically it’s classic material and a must to have on your computer if you love hip-hop music in any sense. I should really start charging for connectin the dots like this, I’m a motherfuckin music blog wordsmith motherfucking lyrical genius! All Ova The News…

1.  Karrine “Superhead” Steffans has just landed a movie deal. It appears that her first book Confessions Of A Video Vixen is going to be made into a feature film. And actress Elise Neal is being looked at to play the lead role in the movie.  But Elise told King magazine that she’d only take the role if Superhead were 100% behind her. She explained, “I just want it to be something she has a lot of control over… I would do it if it came together the right way.”  Could be fun as they both look just like each other.

2.  Da Brat got arrested at Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 42.  Apparently, she got into an argument with the bartender about her tab, it got escalated, and Da Brat broke a bottle over her head.  Check her booking info 

3. Jacob The Jeweler is headed to the big house.  He pleaded guilty Wednesday to falsifying records and giving false statements to investigators looking into a multistate drug ring. Terms of the plea deal call for Jacob Arabov of New York to serve up to 46 months in prison and pay a $2 million penalty, U.S. Attorney Stephen J. Murphy said in a news release. No sentencing date was immediately set by U.S. District Judge Avern Cohn.  In return for the guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop money laundering charges against the man known in the hip-hop world as “Jacob the Jeweler,” said Arabov’s attorney, Benjamin Brafman.  “I realize I have made a terrible mistake and I accept the consequences of my actions,” Arabov said in a news release issued through Brafman.

4. Kelis got dropped from Jive. Looks like Jive Records is finished with R&B singer Kelis. The record label has officially dropped the Milkshake artist from it’s label.
Here’s what Kelis manager, Jeff Rabhan had to say about being dropped:

It was a case of being in the ever-shrinking world of the record industry and finding herself on a label she wasn’t signed to and without a champion. We’re not opposed to another major label deal, but it would have to be non-traditional … [Kelis] is a different kind of artist — very image and style-driven. It’s either something you get or you don’t.

Obviously most people don’t get her, cause she ain’t been able to sell records for a hot minute.. and her last one well..  not so much..
