Yeah, you read correctly. Bronsoliño himself, Action Bronson, one of the dopest new acts out in this hip-hip game, will be live, large & in charge along with yours truly on November 12th at Beauty Bar in Chicago. The event is being curated by the homies of RubyHornet as part of their Digital Freshness event series, hosted by Hustle Simmons, and featuring DJ sets from DJ RTC, Rude 1, and Stefan Ponce. 21+, 9p-3a, $5 to join the festivities. VIC SPENCER & D2G – HARD BARS

The guys Vic Spencer and D2G started crafting Hard Bars months ago with the intent to channel the most gritty, raw hip-hop essence into a project that was representative of both of their styles – and happily for us, they overachieved. Some may remember Vic Spencer from the Go Louis project with STL/The Force’s Black Spade, or  OUR collaborative effort We’re Just Disappointed, or even his most recent master work, Vic Greenthumbs. D2G is a member of the Make-A-Move crew, and a representative of the Flyy City camp of Chicago/ATL. Whether it’s neck breakers like, well, Neck Brace, or more melodic tunes like Hard Love, the consistent element of every track on the project are outstanding lines of force, shock, and awe. Features from the likes of JDP, YP, Que Billah, C. Rich, Flow Easy, Pavy and more only accentuate the strength of the project as a whole. You may know Vic Mensa from the burgeoning new group Kids These Days that’s been EVERYWHERE this past year. INTERVIEW: FLYING LOTUS (@FLYINGLOTUS) AT THE NORTH COAST MUSIC FESTIVAL

The Goodie Bag caught up with the producer-extraordinaire Flying Lotus to chop it up about his North Coast Music Festival experience this past weekend and grab a little information about his Pattern + Grid World project coming up. I was on the stage for this performance and I’ll admit I didn’t know what to expect from his set but I was thoroughly entertained. So were the thousands of people who waited over 4 hours JUST to see him rock. Crazy!

FRANCIS AND THE LIGHTS | LIVE FOOTAGE IN CHICAGO + IT’LL BE BETTER

Francis and The Lights. Oh buddy. I love it when artists we endorse persist to make amazing music and take over the world bit by bit. The talented group of artists, fronted by Francis Starlite, have been making recent waves as an opening act for Drake on his current tour, but we at Blind I were hip to the game before all that. I must stunt for my team.

Since their introduction to Blind I and the last time they were featured on the site as Spotlight Artists, they’ve been working hard, doing live shows, and most recently dropping their new EP “It’ll Be Better“, available now on iTunes. They sent us over a free MP3 of one of my FAVORITE joints that they had a snippet-dressingroom-recording of awhile ago called “For Days“, now in CD quality and just as dope for you guys to check out/download:

On top of that, I got a chance to check them out while they were in Chicago for a performance and my homie Nick Castle from Jermaine Productions was able to get some good performance footage of some joints you can get on It’ll Be Better — hit the jump to check out the footage and preview the new EP!
