One thing Knx has a knack for aside from crafting amazing beats, is reworking songs from other artists. His sound is distinct, so when you hear these remixes it breathes new life into them and they sound like completely different songs. The past few EPs have been primarily instrumentals, but this project (aptly titled WrapTaypes.Port.1) is a set of hip hop remixes. I pulled out a few of my favorites here. So this was an idea I had back in 2007. $ even made me a cover & everything & I never put it out. I decided to pull from that & make this to give y’all for this months edition of NKD, thus we going back in time, to a place where I was coming up as a MC I bumped the schitt outta everything on this edition. Broken tape decks & everythang! This past Saturday I was up @ my DJ W1shOne’s Audio Playground all day working on a mix of this for y’all but was not able to complete it the way I wanted to within such a short time, thus, expect a mix with songs that are not on this to be intertwined with some of these songs & more a lil down the road this year. Ill drop it randomly so stay TUNEd for that. Until then, go inside my mind/ears & enjoy some NOstalgia.

What’s good Blind I Faithful? It’s your girl Maiya and your boy NO coming to you with our first joint compilation…GRIMEY! We’ve talked about doing one for ages and finally made it happen. You’d think between our typical comps, it might be pretty eclectic or soulful. THINK AGAIN! Most men assume the ladies have to act/look rough to appreciate some old La the Darkman or N.W.A. (a stereotype I proudly defy). So, NO and I got our hands dirty in the crates to deliver a gritty, grimy, hardcore mix unlike anything you’ll see on the other blogs.

We literally birthed the idea yesterday morning and completed it in an hour last night. Beginning with my Raekwon “Penitentiary” (The new Rae is ill BTW) we tag teamed track for track throughout the entire thing. Between Gravediggaz, Organized Konfusion and O.C., we got something in store for rap fans that frequent Blind I.
