NO KNOWS DOPE | SEPTEMBER 20X

Let’s see here… so far we have had NKD’s on some str8 up heat to kick start it all, then Dilla, then Beats, then Love , then Stereolab, then Portishead, then  Stevie, last month we did the always vibrant Busta Rhymes & this month NKD is going Radio… Head that is. Radiohead has always been @ the forefront of cutting edge sight & sound. Their last album came out of  nowehere & was sold online for whatever you felt like paying for it & was even nominated for a grammy. Not bad for no label & no advertising & no set price… not bad @ all. This one (like every other NKD released this year is STRICTLY FOR THE FAITHFULS. I hope you will enjoy listening to it as much as I did putting this together.

NO KNOWS DOPE | JUNE 20X

Let’s see… We started out w/ str8 up heat to kick start it all, then Dilla, then Beats, then Love , last month was Stereolab & this month is no surprise to the faithfuls that respecognize that P up there on the cover. For those not in the know… That “P” is for Portishead. Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons, and Adrian Utley gave us a unique new sound back in 1994 & since then have only released 3 albums with their last one being in 2008. Like Sade, D’Angelo & Dr.Dre (Detox anyone?), Portishead is one of those groups that doesn’t need to come out every month with a new record because their music & legacy alone stand the test of time. I ain’t gonna lie tho… I wish they wouldn’t take so damn long in between albums &  or tour if they were, but I guess we gotta take what we can get, till we get what we want. I for one couldn’t wait so I decided to make this month all about the P. It is filled to the brim of rarities, remixes, covers, tributes, unreleased & of course my faves from the albums they DID release. A definite MUST HAVE for any true P fan or Blind I faithful for that matter. & As always… thank you for your continuous support in making these NKD‘s a part of your life. I do it for you!

BLIND I SAYS GO! FEBRUARY 2009 | $’ BIRTHDAY EDITION

2008 was a great year for the kid. Blind I did it’s thing, I learned a lot from both good and fucking horrible situations, and I came out on the other side of the fire battle-tested and ready to step into 2009 with a new outlook and a specific set of skills….skills that make people like me a nightmare for people like you! Shouts to Liam Neeson. Anyway, I stepped up my game and found that it’s only appropriate, since I turn 23 today, to put together this month’s Blind I Says Go! compilation with 23 of the most tranquilizing joints I could fit onto one mix to help me focus! Yes, I did this one with a purely selfish intent, but honestly it ended up being one of the best compilations I’ve ever done.  Sometimes you have to ditch the “new & hot” inclusions in order to maintain the ambiance of a mix. Where else do you get attention to detail like that? If you enjoyed the Backstroke Series or $ Is Feeling Some Kinda Way, this one might top em all. Tracklisting after the jump….Partake!

DERT x BJORK = NEW SCHITT COMING FOR DAT AZZ!!

Blind I fave, DERT has done it again! If you recall his last beat tape Dert Floyd – The Westside Of The Moon (inspired by Pink Floyd) then you will NOT be disappointed with his latest beat tape installment entitled Talk Strange (inspired by Bjork). Remember RZA’s line about …”talk strange like Bjork” ? well… yeah… there’s the title! For those who are familiar with Bjork & those who produce, You know how it’s not the easiest task of chopping up some Bjork or let alone doing it justice. Dert is able to do just that and more on this project. $ & I have been blessed to hear this project prior to it’s scheduled release for New Years Day (Janurary 1st 2009)
