KNXWLEDGE: WRAPTAYPES.PORT.1

One thing Knx has a knack for aside from crafting amazing beats, is reworking songs from other artists. His sound is distinct, so when you hear these remixes it breathes new life into them and they sound like completely different songs. The past few EPs have been primarily instrumentals, but this project (aptly titled WrapTaypes.Port.1) is a set of hip hop remixes. I pulled out a few of my favorites here. DJ JAZZY JEFF AND MICK BOOGIE PRESENT-SUMMERTIME

I was at a cookout yesterday and Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff’s “Summertime” came on. There really is no such thing as having an event during the season without hearing this and other classic summertime songs. So, right on time for the 4th, Mick Boogie Undrcrwn and Jeff teamed up to create this mixtape with almost 50 hits from De la Soul to Quincy Jones. Audible goodness for days. Paying rightful homage to Biggie, this selection has 72 memorable songs (samples, remixes etc.) to rock out to.
