Big ass flyer for a big ass event! I’m proud of my team as we’re an OFFICIAL sponsor along with the OFFICIAL coordinator of the Lollapalooza festival lineup, C3 Presents, our homies at YeaMan! and KnuckleRumbler, and RubyHornet to bring Chicago the OFFICIAL Lollapalooza Hip-Hop Afterparty. No one else is certified dope like our joint, and to prove it we’ve got J. Cole headlining the show, along with Justin Timberlake’s Tennman/Interscope Records group FreeSol (if you watch Entourage you just heard one of their joints at the end of this week’s episode), Big Boi’s rock/hip-hop group Vonnegutt, Chicago party rockers BBU, DJ RTC, and yes, yours truly! It’s all going down at Bottom Lounge (1375 W. Summertime Chi (aaaaah!) is upon us! The good homies of Knuckle Rumbler, YeaMan!, RubyHornet & The Smoking Section have put together a high-energy showcase for July 17th at Darkroom (2210 W. Chicago Ave) featuring DJ RTC, Vonnegutt, Rockwell Knuckles, BBU, Hollywood Holt, and YelaWolf. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing all of these acts on separate occasions, and let me tell you, they’ve all put on a hell of a show individually, so I’m sure this will be quite ridiculous. Blind I linked up with the good people of DCtoBC, Leaders1354, Illroots, The Great Progression, VitaMorte, and GoodWoodNYC to bring the world the QUALITY! Showcase!!!!! On Friday, March 19th we invade Austin, TX during SXSW Music Week to rock Soho Lounge with over 28 acts of freshness! Who’s featured you ask? We’re talking Theo Martins, Vandalyzm, Classy Hand Favours, TiRon, Project Mayhem, The Paxtons, KJ, Mic Terror, Black Spade, Sonnymoon, Brittany Street, Bad Rabbits, Phil Adé, Xavier Pryce, Kinky Notti, Tabi Bonney, Brittany Bosco, Proh Mic, YP, Big Homie Doe, Rockwell Knuckles, House Shoes, BBU, Coultrain, L.e. for the Uncool, Pugs Atomz, Cubic Zirconia, Ro Spit, and some special surprises! BBU – FEAR OF A CLEAR CHANNEL PLANET

Happy Wednesday. I’ll start my drops off with a special one from my homies BBU. You might remember them from their banger “Chi Don’t Dance” which is a hometown favorite here in Chicago and shall never….I repeat, NEVER get old. Their first official release, “Fear Of A Clear Channel Planet” is presented by RubyHornet, mixed by the good homie RTC, and hosted by my Treated Crew/Phedz brother Million $ Mano. The dope part about BBU is they mix real social statements with dance music and with a flavor that’s true to their Chicago roots. Check out one of my favorites from the project “Fly N’ Pink” and partake!

CHICAGO | EVERY DROP COUNTS FOR HAITIAN RELIEF @ REGGIE’S ROCK CLUB

By now you’re already fully aware of the tragedy that took place in Haiti this month and the devastation it has caused its people. Despite the decrease in coverage by major media outlets we must ensure that this event does not decrease in relevance in our own lives and we continue to do everything we can to aid and assist those in need. If you’re in or around Chicago on January 31st  support the The Every Drop Counts Chicago Benefit Concert and its cause.

Here’s a excerpt of Every Drop Counts’ mission statement taken off of their website:

“We began by establishing a Hip-Hop and soul benefit concert—scheduled to take place in Chicago on Sunday, January 31, 2010. The benefit is meant to create awareness of the fundamental need and human right to access clean water. Water is an essential resource to the vitality of human life, it engenders prolonged community building and development.”

Tickets are available now at Leaders 1354‘s downtown location at 672 N. Wells and on Every Drop Count’s website.

All proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales will go directly to World Water Relief

BBU – CHI DON’T DANCE

So I’ll keep it real. Sometimes when the homies ask me to throw up their music on Blind I I’m all like “Eh” cause they’re shit don’t really be popping like that in my opinion or it doesn’t fit our style. Other times, like today, the homies throw me straight heatrocks that are no-brainers and automatically pop off. BBU (Bin Laden Blowin Up or Black, Brown, and Ugly) are from the Chi and are unlike anything you’ve heard. Even by the name you can tell they’re not on any regular shit, and if you get a chance to catch them at a show you’ll probably have to bring an extra shirt. They’re currently featured over at Pitchfork with a dope write-up, and although I’d been rocking to Chi Don’t Dance on their Myspace I just recently got my hands on an MP3…so you know I gotta share! Partake!
