I couldn’t really figure out the tone I wanted this volume of Rendezvous to have. So it was fitting when Noah sent me the cover artwork and it looked like braille or an encryption you have to decode.  However, after playing the songs in this one, I have to say it’s one of my favorites I’ve done in a while. Songs like “Manifestations” aren’t conventionally “sexy” but to me there’s something sultry about them. These mixes in general are like a trip inside our minds and what moves us each. Not sure why exactly, but somehow this fits nicely. Tracks/links after the jump. Enjoy.

*PBBT!’S SMORGASBORD FEBRUARY 2011

Sigh…right…so I was sitting…making the comp…and I kept thinking…man…what would I want the.er…ideal…woman to sound like if I had to describe her musically….and this happened. I feel incredibly fluffy making this and I’ll more than likely overcompensate this feeling by making an outlandishly ignorant comp for March. Playlist and shit under the covers. Stop laughing at me.

THE COUCH SESSIONS PRESENT: THE DREAM SUITE F/ ANDREYA TRIANA

If you’ve been paying attention to our site, you’ll see I’ve been waxing poetic about British songstress Andreya Triana. Ever since I first heard “Lost Where I Belong” (Flying Lotus remix) I was captured. She’s also collaborated with  Bonobo and puts on an amazing live show. The Couch Sessions is right on time with The Dream Suite, which features remixes and  rarities  for your listening pleasure.  Also, her debut album is out now so check it out. Partake!

Pop the hood for the tracklisting!

Can you believe the seasons have changed already? This year is moving at the speed of light. I’m particularly proud of the Blind I team for the way we continue to progress as a unit and a movement. We have more for you to look forward to before the year is over. I decided to do a RDV this month because as summer unwinds and the temperature starts to drop, people gravitate toward their special someone. This set is less sexy and a little more romantic than its predecessors. Hope it moves your spirit. And thanks for your support. Shouts to Sulaiman for the artwork. xoxo

PUTMEONIT PRESENTS…THE PLANE TRAILS MIX BY KIDKANEVIL

Our friends over at Putmeonit posted this lovely mix from Kidkanevil featuring artists that they’ve included in their recurring We Love compilations. The Plane Trails features smooth tracks from Andreya Triana, Oddisee, Tranqill, Tanya Auclair, Olivier DaySoul and more. They’re all at the Soundwave Festival in Croatia having  ball (cue me being jealous). But this is a really diverse selection with something for everyone. You can check it out by simply clicking on the image. Enjoy.

VIDEO: ANDREYA TRIANA & BONOBO-TEA LEAF DANCERS (LIVE)

Judging by the response from all of you guys, it seems you’re digging Andreya Triana as much as I am. That mp3 I posted got like 1500 downloads in a few days. So, here’s some recent footage of her performing the Flying Lotus track she co-wrote, “Tea Leaf Dancers” with Bonobo in NYC.  Remember how ill that video was? Can’t wait for her album to drop.

Shouts to Potholes.

SB.TV A64 ANDREYA TRIANA

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this girl. I’ve been including the British singer’s music in some of my compilations lately. Her voice is incredibly soulful yet gentle, and the production by Bonobo is impeccable.  SB.TV filmed her performing a track  from her debut which will be out this summer. Shouts to Putmeonit for the video.

In case you didn’t catch it on my Rendezvous, download “Lost Where I Belong” Flying Lotus Remix [ZShare] and begin to fall in love as I have.

MAIYA PRESENTS…ORGANIZED CONFUSION

Hi Everyone. What can I say–it’s been quite a month. For starters, Blind I celebrated our first SXSW showcase (Check out the pictures here) and it was incredible to be in the presence of musical greatness.  It has been a whirlwind for me personally these past few weeks, dealing with moments of jubilation and euphoria to death, grief and setbacks. Music has been my window seat. This compilation was due Monday but I needed to gather my thoughts and get the sound right. It starts out mellow and soothing and ends a bit more chaotic–just how it’s sounded in my head. I hope you relate somehow. Tracks/link next door.
