This album was the reason Champion Sound even became a serious retail. You have all heard the stories I’m sure, but for those that do not know, Stones Throw hit up Dilla to do some schitt with the label, Dilla sent a beat tape, Madlib rapped over em all and titled the CD Jaylib, Dilla heard a song and was like WTF!? So then Dilla hit up Madlib and spoke about doing a legit release… thus Champion Sound was born. There’s some schitt on this tho that is that Dylon!! Dilla KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLED it on these beats!!
