88 KEYS PRESENTS-LOCKSMITH MUSIC

Good Lord. I don’t think we’ve ever had such a #latepass situation as we have here.  I mean, our slogan is “Always fresh!”  But better late than never right?  Around CMJ in October, 88 Keys reached out to me with an exciting (but hush hush) announcement that he was building a team of rappers and in the process of signing a collective. In this digital age, it comes as no surprise that he connected with each member initially through Twitter. And the in-person chemistry resulted in the formation of 88 Keys’ label LockSmith Music. The artists include Nemo Achida, Little Vic, Robert Akins III, Tre DeJean and Mann95. You may be familiar with some of the artists already (we’ve posted Nemo Achida tons of times) but this first mixtape is an introduction to the new team. We’re also adding some of the more recent projects after the skip. Let us know what you think!

And here is a lovely instrumental tribute 88 Keys released on Valentine’s Day for his wife Krista. He’s in the process of working on a soul instrumental project aptly  titled Songs for Krista. Definitely looking forward to hearing this.
