I’ll admit when this landed in my inbox I initially thought here we go with another cute Cassie that probably can’t sing. Fortunately, the L.A. singer Jhene Aiko proved me wrong by the end of her Sailing Souls mixtape. With cameos from Drake, Kendrick Lamar and R&B crooner Miguel, the music is not only easy to vibe to, but it’s a damn good introduction. Tracks/link after the jump.

Nice! I always thought Jhene was talented and enjoyed some of her Myspace cuts.
Unfortunately, I got clowned for supporting “that chick that rolls with B2K” LOL It’s nice to see her stepping out of that shadow and starting a new (and authentic) career for herself.
Her voice is very nice. Thanks for putting me on. Didn’t even know she was still recording.
