Arguably the most arduous part of blogging is building up a community as we’ve managed to do here at Blind I, and with that construction comes yet another tedious task - slowly mixing personal tastes with other not-so-personal tastes in efforts to expand everyone’s horizons as a whole. That is, of course, the definition and meaning behind Blind I For The Kids. So I’ve decided to inact executive order and create a Fresh Faces category where, like our Hot Or Not section, we allow our community to give their opinion on artists actively trying to break into the industry. Unlike Hot Or Not, however, I want Fresh Faces to be a critique of the entire package - if you like the video but hate the song, give the director kudos and CONSTRUCTIVELY criticise the artist. That weak strong-behind-my-screename-ghost-hating sh*t is for other blogs, but not Blind I. But back to the lecture at hand…
This joint is called Ridin’, and it’s by Righchus & Max Berry from the University of South Carolina. The story behind this caught my attention, check what the director Taylor Engel had to say about it:
First of all, we are all college students - myself, the artists, the entire crew. Second, we had no money. At all. We spent a total of $42 on gaff tape, to tape down wires. We all go to the University of South Carolina, who did not really support us or want us to make this video - but with a little bargaining we were able to use some equipment. So with all of these roadblocks and more we sought to create a piece of art - a rap video that wasn’t a “rap video”. One that wasn’t filled with materialism and sexism and all of the cliches of videos from BET.
Sounds good to me. Plus I see you out here with the Foamposites. Remember, leave some comments and let them know what you think about the project as a whole. I’m gonna get back to sifting through submissions…

It was cool, dug the video and track, but didn’t you miss the boat on the “no sexism” stance? But props, it was definitely something you don’t see in rap videos today.
