Ahhhhh home…there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss it/bring it up/think about it/compare it to my current place of residence. And although it could be argued that I might have had a similar opinion about another city had I grown up there, I really do think it’s the greatest city in the world - and that’s including all of the bullshit the city tends to throw at you.
One of the things I miss the most about it (outside of my friends and family…whatup $, Nez, Rio, Zo, Gumpy, Big Jay, Fatass, Nolis, Momma ‘n nem…and the food) is the music. Although the Chicago hasn’t seen the same amount of commercial success as other major cities, we still host a catalouge of very diverse and talented artists and acts. Soooo….What I have done for you wonderful people out there in Blind I-ville (since its a little early for me to post the October Smorgasbord) is compiled a 43 track compilation of tracks that I personally believe give a wonderful representation of the hip-hop scene from back home. You’ll notice some familiar names, some not so familiar names (hopefully more of the latter), but what I hope you notice throughout its entirety is good music.

As an expat, now living in South Korea, This mixtape and this cover makes me want to return home and grab some J&J’s (double order of perch and catfish nuggets, mild sauce on them fries, extra bread, make sure my bread and fries sit under my fish so the grease drip through) my bad, fam..got carried away…Nevertheless, thanks for two great mixtapes…
