KARDINAL OFFISHALL – NOT 4 SALE
Damn y’all. Let’s get this straight. Never mind that dude has a hit single with Akon. Never mind that he is signed to a major. Don’t let these things take away from what Kardinal Offishall is first and foremost; a great musician. I listened to the album from beginning to end and cot yammit, this LP is FIYAH.
Being a native son of Toronto (T-Dot) you would never expect this brother to flip the Reggae steelo with such ease. I’ve in the past been a complete ass when it came to stereotypes about our great northern neighbor. Yeah, all the “eh” jokes and moose references were all shits and giggles when I was a kid but now I have a newfound respect for Canada. Please believe, it’s a whole another ball game in the land of maple leaves. Plus their women are FINE.
From the short skits and club tracks Kardinal does not wane in his skills proving each in each song his worth as an impressive emcee . His lyrical content is deep and through provoking enough for even the harden backpacker.
No $hit fam. I’m sold on this cat.
