As a junior in college, Roosevelt Treasurechest traded a car for a set of turntables, walked everywhere, and never looked back. Five years later Roosevelt Treasurechest is a sought after writer, teacher and DJ.
DJ RTC’s latest mixtape, Just Listen…You’ll Like It is just as the name suggest, a seamless blend of ecclectic new music and remixes featuring the likes of The Cool Kids, Styles P, JUICE, Santogold, Mikkey Halsted, and Bun B. Enjoy! Tracklisting after the jump.
This release follows his original series “A Poor Craftsman Always Blames His Tools” which featured a mix one of artist or label complete with an in-depth interview, giving the mixes an autobiographical field. The series featured mixes hosted by Russell Simmons, DJ Babu of Dilated Peoples, Naledge of Kidz In The Hall, and Devin The Dude.
RTC is currently the editor and co-founder of RubyHornet.com, and is prepping the release of two new mixtapes with DP Da Phrancise and Naledge of Kidz In The Hall.
This native of Chicago is also a DJ for PHLI, was a teacher in Teach For America, and write bios for people like GLC, Ben One, Marvo, Que Billah etc
