Foreclosure

By this age, we’ve all been hurt. We’ve run into that person that transcended our common sense; made us move into an out of body experience and just flat out lose our marbles. Like when you were young and folks said you got the wind knocked out of you if you fell down. That soul cry.That chest heave. Those wet pillows. Those experiences make an imprint on your heart and hopefully by the time you come up for air you feel better, not bitter. That’s why I called it foreclosure because when that happens shit shuts down and you lose everything.

These songs are some that take me there. The album that got me through the toughest breakup and only heartbreak I’ve ever experienced was Feist’s Let it Die. Rather than hit you with a slew of Alicia Keys or something you have I tried to go outside the realm and snatch songs like In A Sentimental Mood (i.e. Love Jones). So since folks requested breakup tunes, here they are. If you are struggling, I hope they are fitting to the moment.No matter the circumstance never settle, because you end up settling for less than what you settled for!

And as always, feedback and theme suggestions do the body good like milk. I have so many more breakup tunes that I may revisit this one later. Props to The Talented Mr. Shabazz aka $ for the art.

   Thank you for this. I’m going through that whole, “How’d I even let it get this far.” and then I can’t seem to break-up and I try to hold on and then I start trippin’ on suggestions from everyone and their mom. Thanks to this I can get through the day a bit more. I kind of made a playlist and called it “Questionable” (in regards to my relationship) and I noticed we had some of the same songs on it. The one that I think could/should be added to the foreclosure comp. is “The Beggar” by Mos Def. It goes with the vibe I think. Oh and thanks for that 702 joint! DANG that brings back memories. Ha, ha, I love it.
