Noah (myspace.com/noahdeeakili) put me up on this new release by a producer named Cyrus The Great (myspace.com/cyrusthegreat) who made a tribute cd to J Dilla. I must admit, I’ve heard alot of Dilla “tributes” and wasnt really impressed. However, this one I feel does Dilla justice and may have just opened up the door for Cyrus to make a name for himself as a producer. Definitely check it out.

You MUST see this movie. Children Of Men is a crazy story of what happens when the world i given a case of infertility and how it affects life thereafter. A really dope concept and played out very well. Clive Owen is dope in it. I suggest everyone grab their significant other or their intellectual friends and go see it.
There’s a song in the movie by a old 1960’s group called King Crimson, and ironically enough the song is called “The Court Of The Crimson King”. It’s some European rock, but if you think about it, that’s where all the best rock shit comes from anyway, right? I mean, U2, Queen, Damon Albarn, Rolling Stones, Beatles, who’s messin with that? Check out the song here.

I Come Back With Gifts…

January 19th, 2007

Specifically from a musical standpoint. A little background on today’s feature, The Good, The Bad & The Queen. This group is a crazy conglamerate. Taken from Wikipedia’s bio on the group,

The Good, the Bad and the Queen is the name of Blur frontman Damon Albarn’s new album and new project. Initially reported as a solo album by Albarn with Danger Mouse producing, NME revealed in late July 2006 that the solo project was switched to a new group formed by Albarn.

The group consists of Albarn, The Clash’s bassist Paul Simonon, former The Verve guitarist Simon Tong (who also played guitar during Blur’s Think Tank tour following Graham Coxon’s departure, and played guitar for Gorillaz on their Demon Days album) and Afrobeat pioneer and Africa 70 drummer Tony Allen.

And it’s produced by DangerMouse.

So let’s see. What have these dudes done for music lately you ask?

Blur, The Grey Album, DangerDoom, The Gorillaz, Gnarls Barkley.

Nelson Mandela as pixelated by Blind I (© 2004). This just brought back memories of old designs and things that Blind I has created over the years. I think I’m gonna post up alot of our images that we never used so the public can see how we’ve been getting down for years. We’re oh so versatile. - $ulaiman
