So…what’s poppin all? Its been a minute, yet again for a new update. I’ve been very very busy doing a lot of stuff for my future wellbeing, and also watching a lot of bears football and heroes episodes! Speaking of which, episode 6 comes on tonight, don’t miss it bitches! The bears returned to form yesterday, killing the 49ers 41-10 and proving to me until we play the giants and the patriots, that the only people who can beat the bears, are the bears! Little bit of progress with my sont bmg goal, consequence is coming out a day before my birthday and I’m trying to be as instrumental as possible in getting his album to platinum success so I can try to secure a good position in nyc. So when I put up the paypal so you guys can buy the new consequence mixtape, do it! Good motherfuckin music!
On yet another note, ice been trying to get into the music of this new group called TV on the Radio. They’re like a grungier version of bloc party, and I wanna like them because both the lead singer and the lead guitarist are black and from Brooklyn. Check out their album, return to cookie mountain.
I’m in class right now so excuse me if I misspell something! I just got the new firefox 2.0 in my desktop, and man is that Shit the truth! I downloaded an addition called morning coffee where I can press a button and it brings up the windows I usually check when I get online in succession…how dope! Of course its weather, facebook, Myspace, yahoo sports, and hypebeast. Also got a media integration for mediamonkey so I can control my music from the web browser. Too bad I’m not on the computer that much to actually enjoy it. That’s it for now, I’ll be back later when I’m at home to give you a proper update! $tunt!

My bad for the lack of updates. I’ve been pretty busy with midterms and schitt. Anyways, not alot has been popping off besides regular sh!t, school and what not. I’ve been in a kinda somber mood lately, mostly because of the dropping temperatures here in Chicago alongside some deaths in the close family and a tad bit of stress. Nothing I dont feel like i can handle though. I always get down this time of year. I’ll get it poppin though, believe that! On the flipside, my cousin put me onto a TV show (I know, I promised myself i would never get caught up in a TV show like the rest of these lames, but here I am, blogging about a f*cking syndicated TV show). The show is called Heroes and it comes on on mondays on NBC. Since I usually don’t have the time to watch tv on mondays because of our events at Funky Buddha, I download the episodes and burn them to a disc. The show is CRAZY though, it reminds me of when I was ten and used to wake up early saturday morning to watch X-Men on Fox. That was always my sh!t. Heroes is like a grown up version, more descriptive about alotta “what-ifs” in society, kinda resembling how The Matrix was so successful (graphics wasn’t the main reason people saw it, they saw it cause they wondered how crazy the world works. how do you think religions spread so quickly? same sh!t.) anyways, the show is dope and I recommend it to anyone who wants to catch something pretty interesting (no STDs). Holla at me if you know me like that, I’ll throw you the discs with the previous episodes. It’s only on Episode 4 as of right now, so people can still jump onto the bandwagon and be pretty well-versed. $tunt!

What up what up! What a long ass saturday for me. I had a seven-hour class today starting at 10 AM, not to mention I got home from seeing Diddy and going to Le Passage at 4 AM. SO….off about 4 hours of sleep I set through 7 hours of negotiation techniques (which were very beneficial I might add). I just touched back at the crib about 2 hours or so ago, relieved my brother who was looking after my father, cranked out some flyers and logos, and NOW have to find somewhere for a couple of my high school friends to go out tonight. I swear, if something doesn’t come of this stunting ish, I’m gonna be in a whole gang of hustle. Oh yeah, DJ Word is officially the alternate DJ for Million Dollar Mano at Buddha on Mondays! As you can see from the flyer to the left (which I designed niccas!), we’re about to get it poppin! Stay tuned….$tunt!

I’m sorry, I though that was utterly hilarious. Ayo, it’s Friday the 13th! Go scare the sh!t outta someone tonight G! On another note, I feel like going shopping real bad. I’m straight up itching and stuff, looking at kicks and jackets on Grandism and Hypebeast and alla that. Currently bumping some more of that Ruff Draft EP from Dilla Dog. I’ve been writing really heavy lately, I’m so anxious to get into some experimental music on the real. All this Dilla, Sa-Ra, J Davey, Flying Lotus, Girl Talk, even John Legend throwing it back with a classic style makes me want to lock myself in the studio. It’s such BS when people say real music is dead and all that. I LOVE where music is right now; I find a new incredible sound everyday. And the whole thing about MP3s ruining the industry because of a decrease in sale is BS too. Good music, Great music will always have an audience willing to pay for it. Wack artists are the only ones who get mad because they get exposed! Treated. Hitting some haunted houses tonight with the crew, should be fun as French Connection UK. I always heard a myth about a haunted house in an old prison that you get your money back or something if you make it all the way through without bailing out. Wonder if it’s real, i’ma do some research. Get out and have fun niccas! You can only do so much on the internet! $tunt!

Books Ink will be hosting author, businessman and philanthropist Chris Gardner on Sunday, October 15, 2006.

Gardner is a multi-millionaire stockbroker whose “rags to riches” career started on shaky ground. While living in San Francisco in the early ’80s, he launched on the path to becoming a stockbroker. With a twist of fate, he found himself homeless and living on the streets with his toddler son.

Gardner went on to become a stockroker and launched his own successful firm. His story is captured in his recently released book “The Pursuit Of Happyness.” Oscar-nominated actor, Will Smith was so impressed with Gardner that he bought the movie rights. A featured-length film by the same name will be released in December 2006. In the film Smith and his talented young son, Jaden, will play the parts of Gardner and his son.

Noah hit me off quite lovely once again, no Brokeback! If you can find someone who’s F’in with J Dilla even now, PLEASE let me know. Just grabbed a copy of his Ruff Draft EP, doo-dooing on 90% of producers right now and he made it 3 years ago. Check Reckless Driving on the music player, the joint is so nuts. Also, Also, ALSO, the man, the myth, the Legend, is back! John Legend’s new album “Once Again” is in my grasp and probably won’t be let fo for awhile, it’s THAT good. Its what I wish Get Lifted was after I heard the Solo Sessions At The Knitting Factory. I added some of his best tracks on the player as well, take some time and peep game. Let me kno what you guys think.
And last but definitely not least, the GAWD Diddy is back in the game with Press Play. Now, Diddy is one of my business idols, because his marketing and presence is unrivaled…..but this album pisses me off because every song would be dope as hell if it wasnt for Diddy having something to do with it. I hope he wrote everything he spits, because if he paid someone to ghostwrite for him he needs a refund! All in all it’s a decent album though, money can definitely buy a slew of dope guests and producers on an album that’s for sure! $tunt!!

Recently my brother from another mother Noah hit me with the science on the music game ONCE AGAIN. Flying Lotus’ music is VERRRY dope (three R’s), gives me hope that real music’ll still live on even after the great Dilla passed on….It’s in my music player to the side, so give it a listen, drop a comment here and let me know what you think about it. $tunt! ….gives me time to reflect upon all of the blessings that Allah has afforded me within my life. I’m so thankful for the opportunities I have to do what I do, to live my life, and to live in comfort. With that said, my drive towards my goals is that much stronger when Eid Mubarak rolls around and I’ve exercised self-control in so many things. I’m not trying to preach to anyone about religion of any kind, because I don’t think that people need to be religious, but to be spiritual holds so many benefits. Just acknowledging the chances you’re given gives you a clearer path towards your dreams. That’s real!! Otherwise, life is good. Pops is getting stronger day by day , doing physical rehab and what not for his stroke side-effects. I’m much more confident about his recovery than I was a month or so ago. I told myself that things would get better and we never get anything in life we can’t handle. Everything’s a test! The parties at Funky Buddha are coming along, school’s going fast (I’ll wake up one day within the next two months and i’ll be done!). All of the team is grinding, and it’s a beautiful thing to be around. I’ve always been so ambitious with all of the endeavors i’m involved with, but it feels good to see my team on the same grind, and doing it with extreme passion, mind you! (Shouts to Rio and Nes, Incredibles niggas, your music is ri-sick-ulous and an inspiratio nfor me to keep at it. Shouts to Lorenzo for being more proactive with the rhymes and seeming more and more determined to make it happen. Shouts to Kevin out in NYC getting it poppin with B. Hines and on his own personal grind. It’s a hard road right now but just wait till we cross that threshold my dude!) Crystal seems to be really enjoying her position at the center in Milwaukee with the kids. I hope it gives her the drive to continue down the road of education and make a difference with all these little bad asses running around. I’ve got faith in that too. Sometimes my stomach hurts…sometimes I just wanna sleep and forget about my responsibilities, sometimes I don’t wanna bother with hitting the streets and promoting for my party…but then I look at my father who would kill to even WALK normally and feed himself and realize how selfish I’d be if I stayed sleep, ate without self-control, stayed inside instead of grinding on the streets of Chicago.
